“The view is nice. But given the price, the food was barely average and the service was terrible. 1. We ordered and waited for around 30 minutes until food arrived, while other tables that arrived later than us with the same dish had almost finished eating 2. After checking with the staff, our dishes finally arrived, but one of them was not what we ordered 3. We told the waitress and she did apologize, yet when we get the bill, it was the original one, which was more expensive, not the one that they delivered wrongly 4. When we told them to update the bill, several members of the staff claimed the price of the two dishes are the same. I’ve asked a couple of times as I clearly remember it’s not, but they insisted. I’ve found a copy of the menu, which proves me right and they finally agree to update the bill. I understand staff can be busy at times, but given the price range of the restaurant, I do expect much better service. Not to mention the quality of the food we had cannot compensate the above. This was the worst dining experience we had in our Morocco trip.”
“A home converted to a restaurant— which has maintained the ‘home’ architecture. There are four dining areas, meticulously decorated, and a rooftop area. The staff is warm, courteous and helpful. The food was delectable, beautifully plated and plentiful. Don’t forget to order tea—so beautifully served…”
“Authentic Moroccan gem, designed like a beautiful riad where every corner is a delight to behold. The food is exceptional, and we were pleasantly surprised by both the presentation and flavors. Their rooftop is stunning, truly a memorable experience.”
“Found this beautiful hidden gem by complete chance. So so pleased I had my last Moroccan lunch at this place. One of the best tagines I’ve thoroughly enjoyed in all the 5 cities I’ve visited in Morocco. Assortment of salad was also great and refreshing. Pastries and spiced coffee to finish lunch off were also incredible! I loved everything about this place. The gentleman who served us was so attentive, warm and just a truly lovely server. Manager was warm from the moment we entered until we left; making sure we were enjoying our food.”
“MaQam was like walking into a dream. The dining room is a time capsule of history of the Habous, making for a lovely atmosphere to enjoy traditional Moroccan fare. They have a rooftop patio as well as indoor seating. The menu is accessible for those that are less familiar with the cuisine and the staff is helpful in guiding you through the options. Portions were very generous and every dish served was fragrant and everything you would expect, savory and complex while balanced. A special treat was traditional finishes to dishes that we did not receive from other venues. Couscous was finished with the traditional buttermilk and savory tomato sauce. Of course fresh bread started the meal with an assortment of olives, and our dishes were arranged in a way that made creating a personalized experience easy. At the end of our meal, the host was so helpful to call a taxi for us and give updates on arrival time, allowing us to relax inside until the cab was outside. This meal was a special treat in the historic Habous.”
“A beautiful surprise in one of our favorite Casablanca neighborhoods. It is very beautiful inside. They also have a rooftop, which was gorgeous. It was great that they had an elevator since we had a baby in a stroller, which was very convenient. Now let me talk about the food: The couscous was 10/10. It was comparable to a homemade dish. Salads were also delicious. Everything we ordered was very tasty. Service could be better as it was slow and felt a bit unorganized. I’m assuming because the restaurant is relatively new. We will definitely be back for brunch during our stay.”
