“This restaurant stands out as a premier choice for special occasion celebrations, such as our recent anniversary dinner. Both the meal and service were outstanding, set within an open kitchen, bar, and table setting. Being seated near the open kitchen provided an entertaining view of the culinary team at work, skillfully preparing each dish. The chef's attention was momentarily diverted to our section as we admired the beautifully presented meals. It's advisable to book in advance, particularly for weekends, as each seating is limited to 2.5 hours. Our experience in this semi-fine dining setup was delightful, and the staff's service was commendable. The staff also extended their best wishes on our anniversary, adding a personal touch to the evening.”
“My initial reactions were conflicting. My interest was piqued by the unassuming, dimly lit exterior. Upon entering, it’s your standard, slightly overly contemporary interior that’s become synonymous with mediocrity in today’s food scene and my confidence began to waver. However, any worries I had were quickly dissolved with the arrival of our first plate. Our server, Nate, had a genuine interest in not just the food; but the experience of the food. The meal started incredibly strong with a green garbanzo croquette. Somehow, the plates following got better and better. Each plate was delivered with sincerity, by its chef and food runner. Quality ingredients, bold flavor combinations, plate presentation, timing between courses, table side service, and ambience. Every aspect was knocked out of the park. Any gripes I may have had about the interior were gone and I was reminded of a time when that style of design meant something. I will be back in the immediate future to try the other half of the menu I did not have the pleasure of trying tonight. 6/5 stars if I could.”
“While looking for a place to celebrate my brother’s graduation, found this place from my search. (I am so glad i found this place! Personally, the best restaurant i have been to in Tampa) A bit away from downtown but not too far away. At first, i couldn’t find this place but saw Michelin plaque on the wall (thats how I found the entrance 😅) This place has won Michelin Bib Gourmad award multiple times, so I was very curious to check out this place. (Tip: There is a free parking space next to this restaurant if you don’t see parking space right in front of the restaurant) Upon entering, staff warmly welcomed and confirmed my reservation. We were seated at the table for group of 4 since we wanted to have our own family time. You can choose to sit at bar counter (Tip: happy hour is only available at bar, not at table.) Sam was our main server who gave us great recs and explained each dish in details. I was pleasantly surprised by service here. Sam and other staff were very attentive and thoughtful throughout. They constantly make sure we never run low on water and regularly clean the table and change dishes/utensils between dishes. I want to say their service is by far the best service I have received in restaurants this year in the states. Their service is probably even better than the service I received at some Michelin star places i’ve been to. I really like how they serve one dish at a time, which allowed me to fully enjoy each dish without rushing. In terms of foods, my family ordered 7 a la cartes (tuna tartare, roasted golden beets, yakitori, local collar, charred cabbage, market fish, gnocchi) + 2 desserts (black sesame ice cream and calamansi pie), which were good portion for us. We enjoyer all foods! Each dish was pretty much an art with delicate balance and distinct flavors that don’t overlap. My personal favorites are: 1. Charred cabbage (didn’t know cabbage can taste like meat), 2. Local collar (perfectly fried fish with even crispness throughout) 3. Roaster golden beets (hard to describe but taste healthy and yummy with well toasted sourdough) For desserts, I liked both sesame ice cream and calamansi pie. Sesame ice cream has interesting thai tea caramel that acts as a nice kick, while calamansi pie tastes citrusy and refreshing that helps cleans pallets. I do think you should order desserts for full experience at this restaurant. I truly enjoy my fine dining experience at Rooster & the Till. Foods and service exceeded my expectations. Definitely saved this spot on my map so I dont forget to visit next time visiting Tampa!
“This highly rated local gem is a wonderful experience. They have à la carte and a set menu, the menu is $90 a person. It was a great taste journey ! Staff was super attentive and knowledgeable. At times the noise level becomes assured. It is a very very loud place - making conversations difficult at times. The wine pairing for $45 with the set menu was NOT worth it. You get about 1 regular glass of wine over the four tastings - on a good day maybe 1.5 glasses. First was sake, then a rose, then a red, then a 24% French liquor. Next time I go with the à la carte and à beer. That is much cheaper! Two people menu and wine pairing with tax and tip is about $350. Very Nice place- just a biiiit too loud Enjoy”
“Wonderful experience from start to finish. Our server timed everything perfectly. Attention is top notch! We enjoyed the yakitori, garbanzo croquette, vindaloo pappardelle, and gnocchi. Finished with the Filipino desert. Chefs kiss**”
“Rooster & the Till exceeded our expectations. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain every dish along with the perfect wine pairings. We were fortunate enough to visit on the first night of their new prix fixe menu, and it was outstanding. The chef’s palate is phenomenal—every course was thoughtfully crafted and packed with incredible flavor. The scallops were perfection, and the sauce was so delicious you’ll want every last drop (and maybe consider licking the plate—no judgment). We even had the pleasure of meeting the chef when he personally served us two bumps of caviar—because apparently we now live that kind of life. The Cobia Collars are an absolute must-try! Every member of the staff worked together seamlessly and was well-versed in the ingredients and preparation of each dish, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. This is fine dining at its best, and we can’t wait to return!”
