“we stayed in Kasbah Illy in cold weather & extreme rains during our roadtrip across Morocco. i believe only one more room was taken by guests :) we enjoyed hospitality of this place and excellent food (chicken tagine for dinner and classic moroccan breakfast the next morning). however it was very cold in the building and in our room even tho air conditioning was on maximum temp (30’) and had to be turned off during the night because of the noise and light. so normally we’d appreciate high ceilings and vintage windows, but in our case it was rather a disadvantage. we missed a kettle in the room, but we received some hot water in a thermos. i’d appreciate a hair dryer :) it has to be mentioned that our room got upgraded from a “standard” to “superior” as a goodwill gesture & the owner was really helpful with further way advices. in total we payed around 1200 dh for a night and a dinner”

“Illy Kasbah is a nice place in Demnate, with spacious, clean, and well-kept rooms. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the ladies who served us dinner and breakfast were incredibly kind and gentle — their hospitality was truly appreciated. However, we found the place to be extremely expensive for what it offers. The overall experience and dinner+breakfast didn’t quite match the high price point, making the value-for-money feel unbalanced. While we enjoyed our stay, we probably wouldn’t return solely because of the cost.”

“Tremendous place with an outstanding ambience and staff! Food was excellent, as was the large pool. Abdallah, one of the co-owners and co-managers, assisted my family with trekking plans in the Ait Bou Goumez / Mgoun area in a way that conveyed his absolute professionalism as a guide and support assistant. To be honest, I didn't stay overnight here, and so can't speak to the rooms; we ate lunch and then used Abdallah's help to get transportation to the head of our High Atlas trail and also reserve several gîtes in advance. We paid him a fee for storying our suitcases, since we didn't want them on our trek; over the next few days, we stayed in touch with him as he arranged further travel assistance and bag-delivery at the final village where we finished our trek four days later; along the way, via WhatsApp, he responded quickly and with total satisfaction to our needs (dietary, at gîtes; supplies, in the highlands, etc.). Can't thank him enough! He'd be an excellent guide, for anyone who needs help with an itinerary or wants personal accompaniment to destinations in the remote High Atlas; he appears to have a ton of experience in guiding, and knows the region well.”

“What a find - this place is secluded on the road out of Demnate. It is beautiful, very relaxing and the owner has restored it lovingly. It hasn't any mod cons but thats the beauty of it. The pool is fantastic (a little cold in April) and the gardens and view is breath-taking. Siad, the befitting manager was excellent and he made us very welcome with the chef making whatever we wanted for our evening meals with a lot of fresh produce from the gardens. The rooms and beds are very comfy and are of a style befitting the age of the property. WiFi was a bit didgy in the rooms but could get it at the reception area. Would recommend this place if you want relax - some nice walks. They are expanding the accommodation on the side but there wasn't any noise or disruption (Siad hoping to finish the works early 2025).”
