“A serene and beautiful escape right outside the bustling medina, Jnan Sbil is an absolute gem in Fes. It is extraordinarily peaceful and meticulously well-kept across almost all areas, with dedicated gardeners maintaining the vibrant hedges and colorful, star-shaped flowerbeds. The layout offers a gorgeous mix of open plazas framed by historic stone walls, winding stone paths, and a truly grand, majestic avenue of towering palm trees. The water features add immensely to the tranquil atmosphere, ranging from refreshing blue-tiled fountains to a long, relaxing rock-lined water channel cutting through the lush greenery. A wonderful surprise is the park's unique personality, highlighted by a charming small wildlife section where you can watch white doves in their well-constructed wooden aviary and a delightful, active enclosure filled with guinea pigs scurrying around. It is the perfect, picturesque spot to sit, unwind, and enjoy a quiet afternoon in nature.”

“I just love this garden. Such a serene place with wonderful plant and tree specimens. Great to sit by the lake in the sun or on one of the cool benches in the shade, depending on the time of year. Reading a book somewhere in the garden is very relaxing.”

“It is a great place to stop by during the day. It is very well maintained for a public park . Very family and kid friendly. You can do a little picnic, soaking under the sun. They have hamsters, hens, roosters, a peacock and a peahen and pigeons. They have clean free toilets too”

“I visited Jnan Sbil Gardens and really appreciated the sense of calm it offers. It’s a great escape from the chaos of the Medina, plenty of shade, quieter paths, and a chance to slow things down for a bit. That said, the maintenance didn’t fully live up to expectations. Some areas felt a bit neglected, with dry patches, sections under construction, and fountains that weren’t running. Compared to other parks I visited in Morocco, this one didn’t quite stand out in terms of upkeep. Still, despite those drawbacks, I’d recommend stopping by. The atmosphere alone makes it worth it, especially if you’re looking for a break from the intensity of the Medina.”

“Even though I’m mad about nature and greenery, this garden was hands down one of my top highlights in Fes. It’s beautifully kept, with stunning architecture and landscaping – proper Instagram gold, as you can see from the pics below. A lovely peaceful escape from the madness of the Old Medina. If you’re in Fes, don’t skip it – highly recommend!”

It feels calm and refreshing, with locals and visitors alike just enjoying the space. You can take a slow walk, sit by the water, or simply enjoy the quiet atmosphere.
