“We booked a tour with Get Your Guide and they tried to send us to a really touristic restaurant. We left and entered Azilal. We’ve been very warmly welcomed, everything was amazing. The menu is between 60 and 70, with a salad, the meal, and a dessert. We got two menus egg-tomato tajine. They were the best we had in Morocco so far. Not too spicy, perfect sauce, the tea was delicious, and the prices are totally correct. We highly recommend this place. In addition, the view is amazing and the bread is delicious :)”
“Got left at the tourist trap restaurants nearby and found this gem down the street instead :) I’m so glad I came here! There was a cute cat, WiFi, friendly people, nobody else here but me. Much more reasonable prices, including many items for half the price the restaurants are asking. Highly recommend you ditch the tourist traps and support this place! Also the boy waiter was friendly and taught me words in Amazingh to say thank you! All this for 90 MAD (70 food + 20 drink)
“Absolutely amazing food on the riverside. One of the quieter and more isolated places in town but the food was the best from all the other worse touristy places we tried. All the tagines were VERY good and very authentic and clearly prepared with care and love. The salad was pretty good and the fruit at the end was delicious. Come here to escape the untasty tourist traps!!! Amazing amazing service as well :)”
“I came here a couple months ago and the food was tasty and wayyy cheaper than the other food place our tour guide tried to take me. I sat outside to see the river views but it was the middle of winter and came inside because it was cold and they gave me a free tea to warm up too! Very friendly staff and very tasty and reasonably priced food!”
“Absolutely loved this place! I had the beef tagine and it was so good I literally scraped the plate clean. Our guide was trying to take us to one of those valley restaurants that force a 120 MAD “set menu,” but we decided to walk about 3 minutes away and found this hidden gem instead. For just 60 MAD, you get salad, tagine, tea, and even pudding or cake — such a steal! Most spots right by the river looked kind of dirty, but this one was super clean and run by a lovely local Tunisian guy who was honest and kind. We actually eat small portions, so we asked if we could share one tagine set for two, and he totally encouraged it — said we could always order more if we were still hungry. You don’t need to sit right under the blazing sun by the water to enjoy the view — here you can relax in the shade, chill by the stream, and have your meal comfortably at a real table. And OMG, the pudding and mint tea dessert combo here? Way better than the usual yogurt they serve elsewhere. This place deserves way more love. I almost don’t want to share it, but I hope more travelers come here instead of getting ripped off by tourist traps.”
“This place is a real hidden gem by the river. The food was the best we’ve had in Morocco. We had the meatball tagine and mixed grill skewers — both delicious. The salad, dessert, tea, and mint coffee were also amazing. The service was excellent, which isn’t always typical around here. It’s a very kind, family-owned restaurant, and it truly shows.”
