“If you are looking for a cooking class in Marrakesh, this is the one to book. After a week of traveling through Morocco, the meal we made at Flavors of Marrakech was hands-down the best we’ve had. The entire experience was well-organized from start to finish. It began with a trip to the local market to pick up fresh ingredients. Back at the kitchen, the timing was perfectly paced. They served us tea while the staff did a meticulous job washing and preparing the market ingredients, and then we all got involved in the hands-on prep. The workflow was engaging and moved seamlessly from one thing to another, so everything was ready to feast on right on time. We made a fantastic spread: chicken tagine, vegetable tagine, their wonderful cooked salads, and we even learned how to make the traditional almond desserts we've been seeing all over the country. As a traveler from the US with a sensitive stomach, I am always a little cautious, but I felt in completely good hands here. The kitchen and dining areas were spotless, and the team was thorough about food hygiene and safe prep. I had absolutely no issues. Amazing food, a clean environment, and a great pace. An absolute highlight of our trip!”
“What an awesome experience. Definitely a hands-on workshop with lots of love. We learned a lot, came away with recipes and of course an amazing meal! The kitchen was large, super sanitary, and the ingredients were very fresh. We went to several nice restaurants during our 4 nights in the Medina, but this meal was by far the best.”
“Had a fantastic time learning how to cook traditional Moroccan food. Staf was amazing and very welcoming. Would strongly recommend to anyone. Loved it. Buying your own ingredients and cooking it afterwards was such a treat”
“We had this booked for us as a surprise part of our journey. As someone who doesn't do much cooking I thoroughly enjoyed it. The hosts were wonderful and we learned a lot. The food was lovely and even with the chaos of the markets the whole process was very relaxed. We learnt a lot around the history or Morocco and the culture too. Id definitely recommend this as part of the trip.”
“We had a wonderful time at the Flavors of Marrakech cooking class with Cookie. We made both a chicken and a vegetable tangine along with three vegetables salads and a dessert. It was a lot of fun, and all can participate (no special cooking skills required!). The pace was relaxed, but dinner was prepared and eaten in about 2.5 hours. We would highly recommend this to anyone interested in Moroccan food. From a cost standpoint, this was comparable to a dinner out, but with audience participation and a wonderful tasting meal. Highly recommended!!!”
“This was an amazing cooking experience! We started with a trip to the market with shopping baskets to gather vegetables, herbs, and chicken…And returned to join a well-choreographed symphony of chopping, measuring, and mixing, as we made tagines (lemon chicken and vegetable), salad and dessert. Kaoutar was masterful in her enthusiasm for Moroccan cuisine, the way she explained steps, ingredients, and customs…and the joy with which she and her helpers interacted with each of the 9 guests. The result was the best lemon tagine and the best mint tea I’ve had in the past two weeks.”
