They also offer a perfectly respectable selection of beers and stronger spirits, along with a modest but useful range of basic groceries, toiletries, and various hygienic necessities — which means that, with a bit of planning, one can leave the shop equipped both for civilised refreshment and personal dignity. Is it worth it? Well, that decision — like all matters of refined taste — is entirely yours. But surely, you deserve it.”
