“We visited Chez Lamine during our stay in Marrakech, and we were very satisfied with the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was extremely polite, welcoming, and attentive, which immediately made us feel comfortable. A big advantage of this place is that it is clearly popular with local people. For us, this is always the best sign that the food is authentic and truly represents local cuisine. You can feel that this restaurant focuses on real flavors rather than only attracting tourists. It feels natural and genuine, not overly commercial. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and everything seems to run smoothly even when the restaurant is busy. It’s the kind of place where you can sit down, enjoy your meal, and experience local culture at the same time. Unlike some very tourist-oriented spots (for example around Medina areas), here you get the impression that the food is made for locals first — and tourists are simply lucky to discover it. Overall, we had a very pleasant visit and would happily come back again. If you are looking for authentic Moroccan food, friendly service, and a place where locals actually eat, this restaurant is definitely worth visiting.”
“The food is very delicious, the service is superb. The waiter brought me a second lentil dish without saying anything, after I finished the first one. I was really hungry. Later when I asked for the chilly sauce to be packed for takeaway as I loved it, he put in the bag a dish of lentils again, quite a big quantity of the sauce and two pieces of bread. I cannot compliment them enough. And I didn't even leave a tip as I was eating late and had the exact money with me. But tomorrow I am there again and will leave a tip. The tajin with prunes is my favourite. Thank you”
“Great place for morrocan food away from the crowds in the Medina. Place is big with lots of tables and service is great too. Has the grilled lamb which was moist and delicious and the beef tajines with plums and almonds, also really good. Definitely recommend it.”
“I visited Chez Lamine for dinner at around 9:20 pm. On arrival, the waiter informed us that only two dishes were available: beef tanjia and lamb’s head. I ordered the beef tanjia with chips and salad. The food arrived quickly, but unfortunately the quality was very disappointing. The bread was stale and hard, and the chips appeared to have been re-fried, making them dry and hard. I asked for a fresh portion of chips, but they never arrived. The beef tanjia was the biggest disappointment. It contained far more bones than meat, the flavour was very basic and lacked the rich, slow-cooked taste I was expecting, and overall it was a poor-quality dish. What made the experience even worse was the service. The waiter seemed far more interested in watching the Portugal vs Spain football match than serving customers or checking whether everything was satisfactory. I had visited this restaurant before and the experience was reasonable, but this visit was completely different. It was a waste of both time and money. This restaurant seriously needs to improve both its food quality and customer service. Sadly, I cannot recommend- it’s a hit and miss place”
“Casual food, but hits the spot. Not surprised that Lamine Hadj Mustapha made it all the way to the top to serve the King and also become a social media superstar.”
“Food was great, lamb was tender. There was a lot of bones and you must take extra care. We ordered half a kilo of lamb each and that was more than enough. This was complemented with salad, lentil and bread rolls. I tried this place because of Gordon Ramsey recommendation and it didn't disappoint.”
