“Very well maintained, very close to the Meknes attractions. One of the best riads I have stayed in Morocco; clean, spacious rooms, and well designed common areas. Outside door is locked (most of the time I was there), so you have to knock on the door to be let back in as they don't give you keys to the main door. Great for security, not great if you like to move freely. So that might not be for everyone. But other than that, everything was great.”
“Very hot, no ventilation, stuffy, the pool is totally green and small like a tub. No elevator and no staff help with luggage. Rooms are all above the first floor. Rooms are very small no staff help and not friendly. Bathroom is so tight only one person can fit.”
“I stayed at this Riad in Meknes. The décor in the reception area is charming and welcoming. However, the rooms were not as described on Booking. I booked two identical rooms with the same listed size, but the actual room sizes were noticeably different. There were no basic amenities such as toothbrushes, slippers, or bathrobes. The Wi-Fi was extremely weak, and there was no elevator or staff available to help with the luggage. We were kindly assisted by the ladies at the hotel — Shaimaa at the reception and Fatima Zahra from housekeeping — and we truly appreciated their help.”
“Unfortunately, our reservation was cancelled on Booking due to a “no show,” even though this had been discussed with the riad in advance. The riad could not be reached by phone, and after a long discussion upon arrival, we were finally allowed to stay, although not in the room we had originally booked. Once everything was settled, the breakfast was good and the staff became friendly and helpful.”
“We stayed one night at Riad Zidania. It was exceptional. Super clean, and it smelled great. The Moroccan touch was very present. You feel like wearing a Caftan and taking pictures in every corner because there are pieces of art everywhere. The staff were very kind and meticulous. I highly recommend it.”
“An interesting mix of a traditional Riad and hotel. The common areas feel like a historic Riad, with beautiful decor and furnishings, but the rooms feel like a mid-range western hotel. The best part of our stay was the breakfast which was both massive and delicious. Really enjoyed the different breads and cake each morning. Plus you get hard boiled eggs and yoghurt. The location is perfect, a few minutes walk from the main square and souk. The terrace has an incredible view of nesting storks, the Mausoleum and the medina. 10 dirham for a collective taxi to the hotel. 15 dirham for a private taxi from Bab Mansour to the station. Unfortunately the shower doesn’t get hot (barely lukewarm) and the rooms don’t come with balconies or irons as advertised, and you can’t borrow an iron: they have a paid for ironing service. To get into the Riad you have to knock to be let in, which is very odd and not normal in Morocco. The pool is nothing like the photo. It’s tiny. More like a jacuzzi.”
