“Disappointing Stay , cockroaches , Poor Hygiene, Bad Air Quality, and Overpriced Services Avoid this place at all costs. We spent two nights at this riad, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing from the start , The entrance area smelled very bad, and we even saw cockroaches 🪳 near the entrance and in some areas of the riad, which was very unpleasant and concerning. Check-in took an unusually long time before we were finally given our rooms. The dinner was overpriced and not good quality, so we felt that we did not receive what we paid for. The rooms were very small and had noticeable humidity issues. We also found hair in the bathroom, which made the room feel unclean. In addition, the Wi-Fi connection was poor and unreliable. The staff were friendly, but communication was difficult because they did not speak English, and they were not very helpful in giving recommendations or information about the area. The biggest issue for us was the condition of the beds and cockroaches 🪳 and the air quality in the rooms. If you have asthma or breathing difficulties, this is definitely not the right place to stay. Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay and would not recommend this riad, especially for guests who are sensitive to humidity, cleanliness, or air quality.”
“Unfortunately, this hotel was the complete opposite of professionalism. At 3:00 PM, during a phone call, they informed us that the hotel was under construction and closed, which is something that should never happen without proper notice. They promised that within less than 15 minutes they would find a solution, but that turned out to be completely false. Instead, we were left waiting outside in the heat for nearly two hours while they kept giving excuses instead of solving the issue professionally. At around 5:00 PM, they finally sent us the name of another hotel, after repeatedly claiming the solution would take “15 minutes.” To make things even worse, the replacement hotel they offered was absolutely unacceptable a very poor two-star level hotel that does not match the standards they advertise at all. Instead of taking responsibility, they continued making excuses and avoiding accountability. Our stay was supposed to be on May 7th, and the booking was made in September 2025 for May 7th, 2026. You have to be professional. Go study tourism before working in tourism because this experience was completely unacceptable and horrible. We traveled all over Morocco and had beautiful experiences, but when we arrived at this place in the capital of Morocco, you gave a terrible image of Moroccan tourism. Please learn how to find solutions for people and hire a professional team, because with your current team, it was impossible to even have a proper discussion. The entire communication was chaotic and unprofessional. This experience was chaotic, disrespectful, and a complete waste of time. Booking this hotel is never a good option and never a good choice. Rabat has many beautiful hotels where you can truly enjoy your stay and receive the level of service you pay for. But with this hotel, be careful you may end up wasting your money for absolutely nothing.”
“Avoid 🚨‼️ Confirmed Reservation, Closed Hotel, Zero Respect I rarely leave negative reviews, but what happened with Dar Majad was completely unacceptable and honestly shocking. I booked two rooms back in September 2025 for my stay on May 7, 2026. The reservation was confirmed and this was not even my first experience with them, so I trusted them professionally and confidently. After months of planning and arriving with guests, we were suddenly informed only upon arrival that the hotel was closed and under construction. No warning. No email. No message. No professionalism. Nothing. This is not only irresponsible hospitality, it is deeply disrespectful to travelers who organize their trips in advance and trust your word. In Morocco, hospitality is supposed to mean something. What I experienced here was the complete opposite. Leaving guests stranded after confirmed reservations, especially after such a long confirmation period, is beyond unprofessional. It created stress, embarrassment and a terrible experience for my clients and myself. If the property was going to close, the minimum level of respect would have been to inform guests weeks in advance and help them find alternatives. Instead, we discovered the truth after arriving with luggage at the door. What disappointed me even more was their attitude when I tried to find a solution with them. It honestly felt like they simply did not care about the situation they created or the damage caused to travelers and professionals working in tourism. People work day and night trying to improve Moroccan tourism, protect the image of Moroccan hospitality, and create good experiences for visitors. Then there are service providers like this who destroy that trust completely with careless and irresponsible behavior. Hospitality is not only about having rooms to sell. It is about respect, communication, professionalism, and responsibility. I truly hope they take the time to learn what tourism and Moroccan hospitality actually mean before continuing to provide services to travelers. Very disappointing experience. Absolutely not trustworthy for future bookings.”
“One of the best accommodations we have ever come across in Morocco. Very quiet, private location, beautiful riad in the center of Rabat, very comfortable rooms, great breakfast. It is more difficult to find this accommodation in the alleys, but if you stick to the navigation, you will find it. I definitely recommend it!”
“Where do I even start… The room was the size of a shoebox and faced the restaurant. That might be normal for a riad, but not when there’s loud music and a party happening. We asked for an umbrella — they didn’t have one. The staff was friendly, but sadly very incompetent. And then the worst part: the bathroom. There is NO door at all. Zero privacy. Anyone in the room can see everything. I don’t want my friend or partner watching me sit on the toilet — it’s uncomfortable, awkward, and honestly unacceptable. I am replaying on the replay form hotel! My car accident has nothing to do with your hotel condition so if you are trying to find excuses for your poor hotel conditions that is your problem. Staff was friendly but incompetent, umbrellas should be available for all guest (you said you dont have them at all), I was not unfriendly to staff I waited for Gin & Tonic 20-30 min and just asked where are my drinks, friendly or not you dont allow party to happened in first place at your hotel after 9pm when you know guest needs to sleep! Public parking worked fine so I never complained about that. Instead of accepting your situation and be humble you are being typical rude defendant about it. Your response tells more about your hotel than actually my review! I could have wrote so much more that is wrong with this property! Also you are laying about my credit card charge. My card was NOT charged at all before arrival, so not sure if you are mixing me with some other guest.”
“DO NOT EAT HERE. The worst and most overpriced meal I've had in a month in Morocco. Had dinner here last night, an awful soup to start, three lame salads, a chicken tangine with a couple of bits of potato and stale bread, followed by a still frozen condensed milk desert. I'm sure it's a lovely place to stay and it's a beautiful Riad but I cannot emphasize enough how bad and expensive the food is.”
