Hotel La Gazelle du Dades

“Upon our arrival, we asked if we could spend the night, and they said yes. At first they were going to charge us but then we said we wanted to have dinner and so we just paid for dinner. We paid in total 39€ for two people, dinner included, soup, chicken tagine, dessert, water and a glass of wine. We had a lovely dinner and service was really. Sleeping next to the river was lovely. Thank you so much for your hospitality.”

“This place is a 1 star hotel definitely not the star rating shown. |Bare light, bulbs, stains on bed covers, cracked dinner plates. Stained sinks.”

“The rooms are minimalistic and the bathroom was useless. Almost no water pressure and the sink and toilet were hanging lose. View was pretty good. And food was doable.”

“Hotel rooms were ok. There was warm water for the shower. We had AC, but no AC remote. As for the food, it wasn't amazing and barely enough for the 5 of us sitting at the table. The dinner was supposed to be covered for as part of a 4 day trip to Merzouga desert, but they didn't even bring us a bottle of water or tea, they had to be bought.”

“My overnight stay at the Hotel La Gazelle du Dades was one that I would not wish on my worst enemy. I arrived at the hotel after a 7-hour ride from Marrakech on my way to the Sahara Desert at 7 pm. The hotel desk clerk told me and my fellow travellers that they did not have room for all of us and suggested that I share a room with a single woman whom I did not know and had never met. I let him know that this was not going to happen and immediately called the travel agent who had booked the reservation, Morocco Desert Tours. Once the agent, Ramadan, spoke with the hotel manger, suddenly a room became available. Upon entering the room, I found a single bulb light dangling from the ceiling and a dank smell. I pulled out my Iphone flash light and examined the bed and discovered BEDBUGS. Exiting quickly, I took my suitcase to the front desk and loudly announced my discovery over the din of 30 tourist who had just arrived. To quiet me down, the manager quickly dispatched his assitant to escort me to an upgraded room, which had two beds. I stripped on and found a new mattress and no bugs. (I was afraid to strip the other as it had an ancient mattress on it.) Exhausted, I went to take a shower and discovered a plastic shower curtain covered in mold and mildew. Too tired to complain, I went to have a late dinner served in a dank dining hall and comprised of gruel. This hotel needs to be condemned by the Department of Health.”

“I stayed here just one night with a tour company, so I did not chose it personally. The structure is very big, has no lift but the staff is very kind and help you bringing you the luggage. Unfortunately our room was very dirty: the floor was full of dust, there were hair spread all over the pillows and the sheets, the bathroom was not clean and there were macchie everywhere. Also the bed is very uncomfortable, no soft at all and the room in general was very cold. Regarding the dinner we have the dinner included in our tour reservation so we did not have the chance to chose anything. They served the same for all the guests: a soup not so good, a tijine normal nothing exceptional and some fruits with a little dessert. The breakfast the next morning was very simple, just boiled eggs, the classic bread, their classic crepes, jam and butter and the classical drinks, but it was good.”
