“The most amazing week I’ve had spending a quiet retreat with Moroccan people, Moroccan food and Moroccan horses. The accommodation is rustic and authentic and contrary to other reviews is clean with hot running water. The food was amazing and plenty of it, all home cooked and delicious. The rooms are clean, with comfortable beds, don’t believe the one star reviews! The place itself is in the middle nowhere and is a fabulous retreat if you want peace and tranquility. The beach is a 10 minute walk away and is truly stunning. The sunsets are out of this world. The horses are well cared for and exceptionally fit and fast! The staff and owners were fantastic and could not do enough for us. We will certainly be back for a week of quiet retreat with real Moroccan culture and food. Good memories have been made here.”
“Riad Ocean Beach is a really relaxing place, with good staff and great food. They own a horse riding stales next door and we enjoyed riding along the beach. Great for sunsets Nice terrace with lots of seating Shared bathroom was smelly”
“Our stay was booked for 21–25 July for myself, my wife, and our 15-year-old daughter. We chose and paid for the most expensive room category, but what we found on arrival was completely unacceptable.||The room was extremely small, very dirty, and had no private toilet or shower. The bathroom facilities were outside and shared with other guests, something that was not made clear when booking. Access to the room was via very steep ladder-style stairs that felt unsafe, especially for our daughter.||The furnishings were basic and poorly presented, with old wooden boxes being used as bedside tables. This was far below what we expected based on the description and photos.||When we raised our concerns and asked for an alternative room, the person in charge was unhelpful and offered no reasonable solution. As a result, we had no choice but to leave immediately and find alternative accommodation at our own expense.||To make matters worse, despite the accommodation being completely unsuitable and not as advertised, the property refused to cancel our booking or provide any refund.||Had the listing clearly stated the shared bathroom facilities, the unsafe access, and the actual condition of the accommodation, we would never have booked it. Our concerns as paying guests were ignored.||I strongly advise families and anyone expecting basic standards of cleanliness, safety, and honest advertising to avoid this property.”
“We stayed in a large decorated room for a reasonable price. It had a spectacular view of the ocean and preceding sand dunes, though the beds were quite hard. Slightly difficult and aloof concierge who resisted showing us all the room options but difficulty was made wholly worthwhile once we found ours. The village is quite isolated so a car is necessary, especially if you plan on staying longer than a night or two. If you want to get away from civilisation and be at peace for a while this is the place to go.”
“Arriving at night was very hard to find. A long stressful taxi ride from agadir airport. It is not in Agadir at all... we weren't sure where t was , the taxi driver was worried to drop us in the middle of a load of dark sand dunes. Complete fluke we persevered, and found it. There was o shopor restaurant on site as advertised on booking..com. so no food available. The very nice adorable staff seemed used to complaints & made is an amazing omelette which we paid for. Also on arrival we had to pay an extra charge of tax , never mentioned b4. Out room was at back of building, so no view of sea , just barren landscape. All night donkeys kept us awake, then at 4am the chickens joined in . No sleep.. Next day we left as quick as possible. This is a place for people with a car, no good for taxi s . Here is long way from the sea to walk. No. Beach.. Staff were beautiful souls, bent over backwards for us, & were embarrassed. Abdul Salam and Kabira in photo, lots of love To these guys, Torr & Kate..”
“STAY AWAY - Nice place in appearance, but very poor Animal and Customers treatment July 2025 I stayed in this place with a friend of mine, and we had to cut our holidays short and come back home in a very stressful situation. A deeply disappointing and disturbing experience – avoid at all costs Disliked · A deeply disappointing and disturbing experience – avoid at all costs I stayed at Riyad Ocean expecting a relaxing, nature-focused retreat. What I encountered was a series of serious issues ranging from false advertising and poor hygiene to animal welfare concerns. Below is a breakdown of the problems experienced during my stay: 📍 1. Misleading Location Riyad Ocean is not in Agadir, It is located over 60 km south, which required us to pay an extra 50 euros for a one-hour taxi ride from Agadir airport. 🧼 2. Serious Lack of Cleanliness – Cockroach Infestation One night after returning to the room, we found at least 20 large cockroaches in our room. this was an invasion. When we reported the issue, the owner dismissed it and blamed us, saying the insects came in because we had opened a bathroom door which was not a sealed from floor to ceiling, not signposted or mentioned as a risk for insects. Despite the situation being unlivable, the owner refused to move us to another room, even though there was availability. We were left to kill dozens of insects ourselves and insist until another employee let us use another room. 🐎 3. Animal Welfare – Shocking Conditions for Horses As a cavalier, the most upsetting point: the ranch has a horse riding activity and we could clearly see some of the horses were not taken care of properly: very thin and we could see their ribs, extremely dirty (see pictures which were taken at 7 am in the morning - where you can clearly see the dry sweat marks, saddle marks on all the horses from the day before as they haven't been showered or at least dried and brushed). The state of the stables is appalling, and most of the horses are still tied by the front leg with a rope as the boxes aren't properly closed, preventing horses from moving. Most shockingly, we found one of the horse in the morning enclosed in the little space next to the saddler amongst rusty and sharp metal objectives, an old bathtub and the horse is in very poor condition. Finally, we had a very disturbing interaction with both the owners which I am currently addressing the matter through legal channels: I was personally harassed on my phone by the owner at midnight with threats and false accusations, which he decided to resolve in kicking both my friend and I out of the place despite me providing all the prooves that he was wrongly and rudely accusing me of doing something we didn't do. My friend and I had no other choice than to pack our bags and leave immediately after trying to talk to the owner, who simply shouted at me and insulted me repetitively. I cannot recall ANY similar situation, and I have reported them to Booking.com, as well as taking legal actions. This is simply unacceptable .
