Riad La Maison Nomade

“We flew in from London and were left on the street at midnight with a confirmed booking I don’t usually write reviews like this but what happened to us needs to be out there so no one else goes through it. We booked La Maison Nomade through American Express Travel for 4 nights, 11 to 15 June 2026. It was prepaid, fully confirmed, £239.36 charged to our Amex. We had the confirmation email with the property address, phone number, everything. We flew in from London and arrived at the property at midnight. They turned us away. Said they had no booking. Said they don’t accept American Express. Said they don’t do online bookings. This is a property that is listed on online booking platforms and took our money through one. I was exhausted. I was scared. We were in Marrakech at midnight with nowhere to go and had to scramble to find emergency accommodation ourselves. I felt completely looted, like we’d been scammed in broad daylight except it was the middle of the night in an unfamiliar city. When I contacted American Express they tried to call the property on our behalf. The property kept hanging up on them. Multiple times. Amex havence refunded us the full £239.36 which tells you everything you need to know about who was at fault here. I have the booking confirmation, the full Amex chat where their agent documents everything including the property hanging up, and the refund confirmation. All of it. Please do not book this place. And if you do, do not pay in advance and do not arrive at night.”

“Quiet riad at the north end of the medina, very friendly hosts, clean and tastefully decorated rooms. Sumptuous breakfast. Tea and coffee is served all day long. It is possible to have dinner at the riad after an exhausting day in the city, however this must be reserved in advance. Host accept cash only.”
