Dakhla Attitude

“Our first stay in Attitude. We stayed in “speed spot” bungalows, where there is no air condition, but we never missed it not even for a second. Bungalows are pretty new and functional, they clean all the rooms every day. Everything is really clean. Restaurant is good, especially salads are great, main courses average, desserts good. Alcohol is really expensive. Main spot is choppy and crowded, with high tide itis quite hectic to assemble kites, they really do not have enough space there. Winsurf center is small, but with a reason. There are not many windsurfers there. As much as I know this is the only descent windsurf center in the area. Anyway - be careful about their costs, sometimes you get charged for things you did not use at all. Have everything signed and underwritten not to get into trouble. All in all - a good place to stay if you want kitesurf or even windsurf on this spot.”

“Awesome place if you want to just kite, eat, sleep, & repeat. Thought that food was great (well above my expectations for an all inclusive) and wind was great. If anything my only complaint was the other guests (why are the French so rude/cold?!?), but ultimately made some friends and had a great time. The guys working the kite shop/beach boys were awesome.”

“I don't think it can get more ideal than here to kitesurf. Everything is very convenient and well organised. All your kite stuff is super close to the beach, there is assistence on the beach to get going and land. Room was comfortable and clean, beds are decent. The part I enjoyed the most is that your lugage is handled for you all the way from the airport and back, no dragging around with heavy stuff. Comfort is very decent in all respects. Super friendly staff. Some women behind the counter have a bit of a weird attitude (condescending), but that seems a general thing in Morocco in my very limited experience. Moroccan driving is something else (use any lane, preferable two lanes at the same time, no seatbelts) but well, comes with the country I guess. Some minor points that didn't affect our great experience at all: - as a total beginnner: it is crowded and you lose a lot of space avoiding all kind of obstacles (boats, flags, other kiters, especially other beginners). As a beginner you need to find your space more downwind, which makes you more prone to drifting off coast. A lot of upwind walking involved. But that's part of kitesurfing I fear. Apparently the speed spot is better in that regard, but I didn't try it. - rescue boats were a tat unresponsive in my opinion, as a total beginner I would definitely inform them to watch you closely beforehand. Luckily the other kiters pay more attention to possible incidents. - if you feel safe on the water, I would recommend youtube + trying stuff yourself. Classes are not that usefull without real time communication. Just someone watching you from ashore and giving you some suggestions now and then is kinda costly. Not to say the teachers aren't great, they are, but youtube and reddit is better. Put in the work beforehand and make a checklist to go over in your head whilst trying on the water. - buffet/food is great, but a lot of repetition and sometimes hard to combine into a real meal - would be nice if you could hire an upwind service, dragging your gear upwind during your session, as a beginner. Some kind of motorized shuttle between a start and stop point. Would save a lot of time. All in all, recommended! And definitely if you are able to stay upwind, the crowdiness does nog affect you this much I guess. The wind consistency is less than marketed, there are many off days/off half days even in the "high season". In our week (april) wind was ideal (> 16 knots) about 40-50 percent of the time.

“Great for kitesurfing, nice and helpful staff for the gear rental. The safety boats are fast and attentive. But the hotel reception staff is rude and extremely slow. The food could be better, there's too many choices instead of making one or two good dishes every meal. Any extra is quite expensive (almost 3 euro for a coffee, 6 for a beer ect) and they made me pay 20 euros for a lost plastic bracelet that attaches really poorly.”
