“At the time of writing, this place is ranked on TripAdvisor as number 17 of hotels in Essaouira. We chose it partly because of this and partly because of a favourable mention in the Rough Guide. We could not have been more disappointed. We were shown to a room around the side of the building, the kind of room you'd expect in a cheap motel. Not nice at all. We had prepaid the room, but we chose not to stay. It is quite ridiculous that this place has a rank of 17, and there is something quite odd about it. We looked at three rooms in other hotels while searching for an alternative, Two of these hotels had a lower ranking, but all three rooms were far superior.”

“Hosts were so welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. Comfortable linens and beds. Perfect location to walk to the beach. A little noisy from outside and sounds travels a bit inside the hotel, but to be expected from being inside the city. Our daughter loved to play in the little pool at night. Lots of restaurants near by. Would recommend.”

“A picture perfect turquoise and white oasis in the city, within a walled garden/terrace. Beautiful gardens and bright paintwork makes Vent Des Dunes the prettiest destination in the neighbourhood. We brought our two almost teenage children for their first experience of Africa and it was perfect. A peaceful sanctuary from the hustle and bustle with a small but perfectly formed plunge pool for cooling off yet minutes from the beach. The staff were always available to help and were so kind in making the children feel welcome and always well fed! Our top floor apartment with its own private rooftop was spacious, spotless and airy, and surprisingly secluded despite opening right out onto the restaurant area. A very happy and peaceful stay - the children will remember it forever. Many thanks to all the friendly and generous staff.”

“I spent three nights here, traveling solo and had the perfect stay. Nada was very welcoming and in touch with me before I arrived to organize transfers and any meals I wanted. She is an exceptional professional host. The room was beautiful as was the roof terrace. Nisrine cooked some wonderful meals and the breakfast was also a fabulous feast. I felt very safe and comfortable here. It is located perfectly, close to the beach and a 20 minute walk to the medina. They also have a fantastic hamman on site, very reasonable prices and another great experience. I will stay again if I am back in Essaouira.”
