“Found this wonderful shop exploring the medina. Idris, the shop owner was incredibly friendly and kind. We fell in love with one of his Berber rugs, but the gap between his asking price and our comfort level was considerable. Not to worry! Idris wanted to make us happy, and therefore accepted our price on the condition that he take my hat as a souvenir (he collects them from his patrons). We visited his shop during Ramadan, and he insisted that we break fast with him and his wonderful wife. They served us a delicious dish of kefta with eggs as well as some ful. Their graciousness and hospitality left an indelible impression on us and was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you Idris and Siham :)”
“Absolutely beautiful rugs and carpets from Idris and his wife Siham. They're so kind and honest and give you really great, honest prices. They don't believe in different prices for foreigners, as they say, all people deserve to be treated equally wherever they go in the world. I really love their ethos, their welcoming nature and we loved having teas and coffees with them in their cafe opposite the carpet shop too. Absolutely recommend the amazing quality of the rugs too, the beautiful different types of wool, the natural stunning colours and designs. 10/10 for both quality and service.”
“We purchased two beautiful rugs here. They were patient and helpful while we made our choices. They even helped up navigate the market to buy a suitcase, then helped us pack up the rugs too!”
“Go here!!! Such a kind family selling genuine Berber rugs. I bought a beautiful young lamb wool rug for my home and I’m so excited to share the story about it. He was patient and willing to talk about where the rug was from, the length of time it took and the tribe that made it. I’m so happy with my purchase and couldn’t recommend coming here enough!!!”
“We visited quite a few shops to find the right carpet and we found a beautiful rug to a very fair price at Driss’ shop. What made the difference for us is that Driss and his wife have of course a beautiful selection of carpets which are handmade in Berber tradition, but they really both made us feel comfortable by not pushing hard on the sale, and they really offer a fair price to their customers. Thank you for this experience!”
“There are many many vendors at Medina de Fès. On my last morning before leaving this miraculous caleidoscopio de colours, i stop by the shop of Idris and his wife. They are humble people and we made a good deal for amazing carpet. I knew i must bring one home with me, but many vendors set up starting point for price negotiation so extremely high, that actually i was discouraged… but being the first customer to Idris’ shop and his personal attitude changed the deal and I found beautiful magic carpet for my home…. Thank you Idris & your wife. Choukran sahbi 🙌🏻. I recommend him, his beats carpets and designs if you like to feel treated fair when buying art… because these carpets are pieces of grande artworks.”
