“Charming Riad at the entrance of the old Medina. The Riad is absolutely beautiful. It looks so much better in person than pictures. The decor is gorgeous. Smells wonderful. The staff is very courteous. We were greeted with tea and cookies (delicious). There is a parking garage less than a block from the Riad. Beware people approaching you. They will pretend to know the Riad or pretend they were expecting you. They will offer you "free tours." While these are not delinquents, they are genuinely people who can guide you, but they will bring you to several stores because they make money from your purchases (becomes too much too quick). The Riad is not affiliated to them and they do let you know about this when you check-in. The breakfast is really good. They are very accommodating, my mom requested eggs (not part of the breakfast), they made an omelet for her, just let them know your request in advance. The room was for 4. It was very bright and spacious. It smell wonderful, and was really cleaned.”
“We just had the most wonderful 5 nights at Riad Al Bartal - I’m very sad to leave! There are so many wonderful things to say, but I’ll start with the food - *please* do yourselves a favour and eat your dinner at the riad! We’ve dined at many top-rated restaurants in Marrakech and Fez, and the delicious meals prepared with love by the riad’s talented cooks were far and away the best of our trip. A different set menu each night using fresh produce and featuring the most delightful flavours… each day we were honestly counting down the hours until we got to enjoy the next meal. The daily breakfast was plentiful and yummy as well, with variation each morning. The riad itself is truly beautiful, filled with art and exquisite details. The lush courtyard is an enchanting space, the perfect place to relax after a day of adventures, and the 360 degree view from the rooftop is wonderful. The owner’s pet bird Poulette, who could be found in various spots within the courtyard, sang regularly throughout the day and added to the magical atmosphere! The location is perfect - right at the edge of the Medina, so it’s easy to find (an important factor in a city as labyrinth-like as this one). Our suite (Taquile, the Superior Double Room), was gorgeous and spacious - the highest ceilings we’ve ever slept under! The mattress is quite firm which did cause some issues for me as I have back problems, but I just folded the single bed cover underneath me and that helped a lot (other people might be fine with this style of mattress). Our biggest praise goes to the warm and lovely staff: Hamza, Dounia, Fatine, Hassan, Zeyad, Fouad, and the owner Ray. Everyone was incredibly kind, and elevated our stay immensely. We’re so grateful to them all, and hope that we’re lucky enough to visit again one day!”
“From the check in day to the check out day the service was magnificent and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast and dinner at the Riads are really good as well. With the location being close to the entrance of the Medina it is not a long walk from where the taxis can drop you off. Highly recommend this Riad for your stay in Fes”
“This was the first hotel we booked on our first ever trip to Morrocco. It was easy to find, with terrific and friendly staff. We spent most of the time in the inside court yard. It was a beautiful setting, open with lots plants and a singing parrot. Relatively close to the center of the medina. We truly enjoyed our time at this riad.”
“It’s a gorgeous riad, very centrally located—approximately 10 minutes from the gate. When we arrived, they served us tea and cookies while we completed our registration. Our unit was spread over two floors: the bottom floor had a living room, desk, and bathroom, and the upper floor was the bedroom. The upper floor also had both heating and air conditioning. The staff were all incredibly kind and sweet. Breakfast was included in our stay and was amazing, with a great variety of different options.”
“Great Riad. Decor looks great. Good dinner if you want to dine in. Nice staff. Terrace/patio on top floor.”
