“The architecture in Riad Tawargit is beautiful and the rooms were clean. Typically I don't leave negative reviews because I don't want to affect the business but I had to this time. On our first day, my family and I had to wait a long time for service and I chalked it up to bad timing. One our second day, I arrived at breakfast alone and waited for service but no one came so I went to the kitchen to request my breakfast and received subtle eye rolls. Later when an older European couple came down while I was eating, they were immediately greeted and served breakfast. Again I thought maybe I caught the staff at a bad time. The third day is what finally made me feel very uncomfortable. When I came down to breakfast, they forgot to serve me tea completely and when I went to ask, they looked annoyed at me. While I waited for my tea, a large European family came down for breakfast and were greeted immediately with smiles and asked if they would like tea and coffee. Perhaps I was unluckly and encountered staff that did not enjoy serving East Asian and South Asians. I would say this riad looked like it would be a wonderful stay if you were European of Caucasian descent. But if you are East Asian or South Asian, I would recommend staying elsewhere for likely better service.”
“Great experience overall. We had a late flight into Marrakech and was able to find the Riad from the bus stop with no problems (about a 15 min walk). Yassine greeted us at the door and was very welcoming, and he was very responsive over Whatsapp as well. Everything in the room felt newer and very clean, and we were very comfortable for our one night stay before our desert tour. We had a traditional Moroccan breakfast in the morning, and everything was delicious. They accommodated my Celiac disease and made sure I had enough food before leaving early the next morning. Yassine then walked us to our tour guide, which made us feel safe as first time travelers to Morocco.”
“We had such a lovely time at the riad. This was our first riad and it didn’t disappoint. We bought a car ride from and to the airport what we definitely recommend to avoid the troubles of taxis. When we arrived the hospitality was great, got tea, a map of the city and recommendations. The room was also very nice, however it is really noisy and the door handles makes a lot of noise when you open them. You can hear conservations/soft music playing from downstairs when you are in the room. There is an jacuzzi, rooftop and they serve on reservation lunch and dinner. When we left we’ve had to leave just when breakfast began, but the staff was so nice to give us breakfast at 7:15 before we left. The location is also good, a 10 minute walk to the soukes.”
“This Riad was nice and the room we were in had a nice amount of space including a small terrace overlooking the interior courtyard. There was often food smells floating up to our room, which I think if I was eating the food I would have enjoyed but since it was not us eating I would have preferred to not have food smells. Additionally, It would be nice if there was better lighting and signage in the area coming up to the door.”
“A true gem! Everything is in good walking distance. Our room was really great and very clean we enjoyed our stay so much. The food offered was really good and would advise to have dinner there if you can. A great thanks to all of the staff (Anas and team) for making our stay truly special! I would highly recommend a stay at this riad and will surely be booking here again on my next visit.”
“There are hundreds (or even thousands) of riads in Marrakech’s Medina. We just returned from a four-night stay at Riad Tawargit, which is undoubtedly one of the best and most well-balanced riads to stay in within the Medina. If you're looking for a room spacious enough to play tennis in, this is not the place! Room sizes are not Tawargit’s main highlight. However, they offer enough space for a comfortable stay, are very clean, and well-maintained. The service is excellent—always friendly and ready to help with a smile. Breakfast is amazing, with high-quality ingredients and a variety of options—truly impressive! We also had dinner at Tawargit, which was equally outstanding. Our group of 10 friends agreed it was one of the best meals we had in Marrakech, even compared to other top-rated restaurants. The location is also great—just a 10-15 minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa square. Overall, a highly recommended place to stay in Marrakech!”
