“What a special experience, the chef specialties are an absolute must!! The food was so delicious, loved the Lobster Pastilla and an off menu sweet and savory dish. Our waiter Badr was so knowledgeable and attentive. Felt very catered to and just a beautiful setting overall. I’d skip the Moroccan Salad and focus more on the chef specialties. Moroccan food is so good everywhere so venture out a bit and experience what the chef wants :)”
“An Evening of Sensory Splendor at Le Marocain Stepping into Le Marocain is not merely a dinner reservation; it is an immersion into the very soul of Maghrebi craftsmanship. Located within the legendary walls of La Mamounia, the restaurant serves as a masterclass in traditional design. From the intricate zellige tilework and hand-carved woodwork to the soft glow of lantern light reflecting off velvet finishes, the ambiance is one of timeless, palatial intimacy. The menu is a sophisticated tribute to Moroccan heritage, balancing deep, earthy spices with refined presentation. • The Pastilla: A true highlight. The pastry was impossibly crisp, giving way to a rich, spiced filling that perfectly hit the classic sweet-and-savory notes this dish is famous for. • The Tajine: Slowly simmered and deeply aromatic, the meat was tender enough to fall away at the touch of a fork, saturated in a complex reduction of spices. • Couscous Royal: A majestic centerpiece. The semolina was light and aerated, serves as the perfect canvas for a generous assortment of meats and perfectly cooked vegetables. It is impossible to discuss the meal without acknowledging the setting. La Mamounia remains one of the world's most sublime destinations. The transition from the hotel’s exquisite, jasmine-scented gardens to the opulent dining room creates an atmosphere of pure enchantment. Every detail, from the impeccable service to the live Andalusian musicians, reinforces why this remains the gold standard of Marrakesh. Le Marocain offers an exquisite fusion of culinary mastery and architectural beauty—an absolute must for any discerning traveler in Morocco.

“We visited La Marocain for Ftour this evening. Absolutely impressed by every part of the experience. Of course the grounds, and the building in which you find the restaurant are all very beautiful and extremely well preserved. What stands out in particular was the incredible quality of service. Everything we wanted was bought to the table before we had a chance to even ask for it, very impressive. Mint teas, juices and waters were never empty. The live music complimented the ambience of this restaurant perfectly. Onto the food, absolutely every dish was delicious and again very well explained by the staff. Id recommend this as a venue for anyone looking for a more special Ftour during the holy month.”
“We dined here twice during our stay at La Mamounia, which, considering the number of tempting options in Marrakech, says quite a lot. First, the setting. It is, quite simply, spectacular. Tucked within one of the most legendary palaces in the world, the restaurant delivers exactly the sort of atmosphere one hopes for: low lighting, refined décor, a quietly romantic mood, and live traditional music that drifts through the room just enough to remind you that you are, in fact, in Marrakech and not merely dreaming. The service is polished and attentive, without ever feeling stiff. Staff are warm, professional, and clearly well accustomed to guests who arrive with high expectations (which, at La Mamounia, is rather inevitable). As for the food, opinions seem to vary— and we can understand why. Some dishes were genuinely excellent, beautifully presented and carefully executed. Others felt a touch too international, as though the spices had been politely introduced rather than enthusiastically invited in. Perfectly pleasant, though perhaps not the boldest expression of Moroccan cuisine. The lamb shoulder they prepare is a world-class dish. However, if you’d like to try it, it must be ordered in advance. The prices, unsurprisingly, reflect the palace setting. You are paying not only for what’s on the plate, but for the chandeliers above it, the music in the background, and the rather magical sense of occasion. In short: come for the experience, the atmosphere, and the romance of La Mamounia at night. For that alone, it’s worth the evening. And, in our case, even a second one.”
“I had high expectations and was disappointed at every turn. Service was consistently below average except for the hostess. It took 2+ hours to get our food, water service was non-existent, and follow up for wine was slow. The lamb tangia was above average, everything else was below average to include dry chicken tajine, beef tajine was unremarkable and the 7 salads selection was meh except for the lamb brains. Skip this place until they improve and go to the Royal Monsour.”
“A must visit when in Marrakesh. The hotel and restaurant are a piece of art. The food was nice but the only down side in our experience was that we waited almost 45 minutes for our table and the waiter kept saying 10 minutes every time. We went up to the roof top and took some drinks while we waited for almost an hour. By the time we were having dinner it was already quite late and my nephews slept in the restaurant. Apart from that, the place itself, the ambience and the live music was all very enjoyable.”
