“Sesamo at Royal Mansour Marrakech staged an experience last night! Let me start with the only inconvenience: I had to wait a bit longer than expected for my table. Not ideal. But the moment I sat down, everything shifted. The room ambience was stunning, thoughtfully designed, warm, and dripping with understated luxury…and the bill told me why! ha I grabbed the RAF, an 8-course pre-fixe that felt like a curated journey. We opened with the Cunzata salad, bright, fresh, and layered with flavor. Then came the Cappuccino Majorelle with squid ink which was visually striking but I was unsure how it was going to taste until I dug in… decadent and soulful at the same time. The Pennoni was adapted for me with green peas instead of beef, and it didn’t miss a beat! After that I had the orange duck lasagna… look, I’m not a big fan of duck but this was one of those moments where you just pause mid-bite. Rich, aromatic, and executed with precision. The lobster with watercress was clean but something I would expect. They swapped in the crisp trout from the Max menu for me because I don’t eat beef and although the trout was just ‘ok’, I appreciated the service. Thoughtful, flexible, and on point. Dessert sealed it: pistachio ice cream with various dipping sauces and add-ons! Seay less…I crushed it. Across the board, the flavor profiles hit and every plate was memorable. So, the wait wasn’t ideal, but everything after that made it worth it…except for that bill but the value was there for surel Sesamo is doing something special in Marrakech. If you know, you know and now you know.”
“Top notch in every respect! We had lunch there on Christmas Day and enjoyed the specially curated menu prepared for the occasion. The festive decorations at the Royal Mansour were incredible - complete with a visit from Santa… We were treated like royalty from the minute we stepped into the hotel. The staff were extremely polite and accommodating. Our request to change something on the menu was managed quickly and efficiently. This is a true palace - the absolute highlight of our trip! Not to be missed.”
“We got recommended this beautiful restaurant whilst on our vacation here in Marrakesh. It was definitely pure luxury, the service was absolutely 5 star and beyond. However, we were quite disappointed with the food, whilst the dishes were beautifully presented, it lacked flavor and the "wow" effect for us, especially with the restaurant being on a more pricey side. It was an amazing experience, but i'm not sure if we would return again. Nevertheless, a romantic and unique dinner spot.”
“The evening was the best restaurant experience i/we have had. The setting was 10/10, the food and presentation was 10/10, and the service of the 2 young people (one man, one young lady - my apologies, I have forgotten their names) was exemplary. When we return to Marrakesh, we will ensure we return to Sesamo. Thank you for a truly memorable evening. Neil and Vanessa”
“We had an absolutely extraordinary evening at Sesamo. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. We chose the Rita tasting menu for two, and every single moment felt thoughtful, elegant, and unforgettable. What impressed us most was the service. We have visited many fine dining restaurants around the world, but rarely have we experienced such genuine warmth, attention to detail, and kindness. Every member of the team made us feel truly welcome. The explanations for each dish, the care, the atmosphere — everything was perfect. We connected so well with the staff that, at the end of the evening, we were even invited to visit the kitchen, which made the experience even more special. The food itself was outstanding. The menu included nine courses — appetizers, main dishes, and desserts — and we loved every single one of them. We are passionate about Italian cuisine and have traveled to Italy several times, but what made this experience unique was the beautiful creativity behind the dishes. The chef blends Italian tradition with subtle influences from other cultures, including Moroccan spices that added incredible depth and character to certain plates. Another detail we absolutely loved: instead of flowers on the tables, there were fruits displayed in elegant vases. When we asked why, we learned it was to keep the scents neutral so nothing would interfere with the tasting experience. That perfectly reflects the philosophy of this restaurant — every detail matters. To end the evening, the team took a Polaroid photo of us with the date and the fragrance of the restaurant attached to it as a souvenir. Such a beautiful and personal touch that we will treasure forever. We leave with unforgettable memories and immense gratitude for this experience. We will definitely return next time to try the Chef’s Table, which already sounds like another incredible journey. Thank you again to the entire team — and see you very soon.”
“A Culinary Masterpiece in a Festive Wonderland The tasting menu at Sesamo by the 3-Michelin-starred Chef Massimiliano Alajmo is an absolute triumph of Italian fine dining. Alajmo's signature lightness and precision shine through every dish. It's a culinary journey characterized by flawless execution and exquisite flavors. The setting, already one of Marrakech's most magnificent, was elevated to pure magic by the stunning Christmas display. The Royal Mansour's festive decorations—opulent, elegant, and perfectly integrated—turned the dining experience into a beautiful, immersive winter fantasy”
