“Four stars because they had run out of lamb brochettes by 4 pm (16h00) on a Sunday afternoon. The beef filet brochettes are nothing special. Each brochette platter includes chips/french fries and rice; we shared one platter between two and it was plenty. We enjoyed the “Assortiment de salade Marocaine” - four tiny dishes with three varieties of cooked vegetable and one tomato, green pepper and onion salad. Service was decent even though it was extremely busy. Clearly a very popular place with locals.”
“A fine and old Moroccan restaurant in the Agdal area that serves traditional local dishes such as Tajines, couscous, barbecues, salads, soup, and drinks. Food is very tasty, and portions are filling. Service is very quick. They accept cash payment only. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and indoor seating spans across several halls. They have a restroom. They offer delivery and take-away. The interior design of the restaurant could get some improvement.
“This is the quintessential locals place. Been around for 50+ years...truly the OG Moroccan place to eat in Rabat. In fact, there is currently a ton of construction happening in the area for a new stadium (⚽️ FIFA Morocco) and out of respect for this establishment, they are not changing any of the restaurant frontage. 🎉 Service was outstanding...place runs like a well oiled machine! Quick side comment...I don't know how Moroccan men are thin (and they are) because if I lived here, I would become a carb blob due to the amazing bread at every meal. And this was some of the best I experienced...truly top shelf. Add some of their Zaalouk and wowser. Full from bread but let's crush some lamb skewers, meat, rice, and fries (needed more carbs...lol). The meats are truly prepared old school making them super tender with this wonderful char flavor. There might have been salad but the meat sweats got in my eyes so I lost focus... Seriously must visit this place if in Rabat!”
“The harira was tasty, but they add too many chickpeas. As for the mixed grill platter, the skewers had good flavor but were very dry. I recommend adjusting the cooking time to enhance the texture and juiciness of the meat.”
“One of the oldest restaurants in Rabat so I was told, tagine lamb was a bit on the sweet side but tender and not too generous portion, beef skewers a bit on the dry side, waiter wasn’t pushy to sell.”
“Don't be in hurry as foreigner but otherwise great food at a reasonable price”
