“Nice place and clean however the food was probably the worst I’ve had in Morroco for shawarma. Shawarmas were so small and little, they fell apart when trying to eat them. Ordered mix Arabi spicy, and a single chicken. You can see the size compared to the fork. For the spicy they brought me hot sauce to eat it with and nothing inside, and pomegranate molasses outside which was weird. Garlic sauce which is the flavor creator of this cuisine, tasted like regular mayo with garlic added in. Kunafa was dry and stale, asked for new which they did bring it but had no taste. My female partner who doesn’t each much was even hungry after eating, which is an achievement. Place has potential and service and ambiance is great! They did give complimentary tea which they do most places. Not sure why the food was the issue here…?”
Below average food experience overall. The grilled meats were overcooked, dry, and very chewy, which clearly shows a lack of attention to detail and quality control in the kitchen. The salads were fine, but nothing special. The kunafa dessert was just okay and noticeably lacked sugar syrup, making it dry and underwhelming. Overall, the dining experience was and pretty mid.
“Honestly, I was disappointed with my experience at Mazen Chef. The waiting time for a simple shawarma sandwich was far too long. The employees were working very slowly, and even after asking several times, my sandwich still wasn’t ready. Unfortunately, the service really needs improvement.”
“A good place to try Syrian food in Rabat. I ordered tabaq lahm, but the meat wasn't cooked well enough. My brother had a shawarma sandwich and really enjoyed it. We both shared some tasty falafel. Prices are a bit higher than other Syrian restaurants in the same area”
“Am 05.02 i had the pleasure of visiting Mazen in Rabat, a restaurant specializing in Syrian dishes. What stands out immediately is the beautifully designed oriental decor, creating a welcoming and authentic atmosphere. In addition to the appealing setting, the establishment is consistently clean, and the staff is friendly and competent, making the visit pleasant. However, a critical point for potential guests to note is the restaurant's popularity. It's often so crowded that you have to wait for a table to become available. While this speaks volumes about the quality and popularity of the dishes offered, it could be a deterrent for guests looking for a quick and hassle-free meal. Another aspect that could use improvement is the value for money. The prices seem a bit high compared to what is offered. Although the quality of the food is undoubtedly high, adjusting the prices or enhancing the portions could help guests feel better about the value of their meal.”
“Extremely delicious Syrian food in Rabat! We ordered the big platter for our group of four that comes with the dry ice gimmick - we loved it! We ordered extra sides for the dishes we loved the most. We ate until we couldn’t eat no more!”
