“Stayed here on the first night for my 3 day tour to Merzouga. The rooms are simple, it gets cold at night as there are no heaters in the room. Showers are heated. Best part isn't the rooms but the people running the place, we had dinner and a great time as they sang and played. Ohhh there's also a cat, no clue what it's name is but cuddly and affectionate. Very cute Note: The review is based on the tour, so experience might be different when booking it independently. Another note, the dinner portions were quite small to share with everyone, might be a tour thing, I'm not sure.”

“Great Travel Morocco or Be Morocan is the unreliable tour agency that organized our disastrous trip through their unprofessional partners. Auberge des Peupliers in the Valley of Roses: Major Safety Failures – Avoid! ​ Our stay at Auberge des Peupliers was the first night of our tour, and it started with immediate red flags that made us feel deeply unsafe. We three women were assigned the only room with a broken door lock, while every other guest received working keys. This left us unable to secure the door properly at night, a basic safety requirement in any hotel. When we requested a fix, staff refused initially, claiming the manager could "guarantee our safety." Later, we got trapped inside due to the faulty lock, needing other guests to free us. The hotel owner shockingly suggested he could "sleep in our room to protect us," which felt invasive and terrifying rather than reassuring – especially from a man to solo female travelers. Only after we contacted the tour agency did they finally repair the lock. Treating serious security concerns as casual or "funny" was completely unprofessional. Hotel staff and local men were drinking heavily before dinner. When we asked about a small New Year's Eve celebration, drunk men invaded our space, pressuring us to dance and even following one friend on Instagram afterward. One co-traveler had 200 euros stolen from her bag. ​Two days after leaving the hotel, my co-traveler discovered that 200 euros had been stolen from her bag,the thief cleverly left 100 euros behind to delay detection and avoid immediate suspicion. This ruined our trip's start in Morocco's beautiful Valley of Roses. Despite positive general reviews for location and food, the safety lapses make it unacceptable – especially for women. !!!Strongly advise avoiding Auberge des Peupliers.”
