“The only way worth going here is on a powerful SunTrip e-MTB... the place is amazing, the painted rocks themselves are unique, but the real attraction is the nature and scenery and cycling through the wilderness.”
“Lovely place!!! If you have a mountain bike it’s defo worth riding from Tafraoute. On the road here followed by off road crazy rock gardens back🤟🏻🤟🏻”
“Painted rocks, in fact painted hills. Rocks in a few clusters and also scattered all over the place. Very interesting, shame some people think it's okay to do graffiti on them”
“Pretty impressive very large painted rocks. The road down is bumpy but worth it. Fun to climb on for an hour or 2. Free to see.”
“A bunch of painted rocks. Honestly, it was less beautiful than other scenic areas we saw in Morocco, but perhaps we were spoiled.”
“The rocks were created by Belgian artist Jean Vérame in 1984. Assisted by the local fire department and using 18 tons of paint, he painted the granite boulders in the Almenn valley (near Aguerd Oudad) in shades of blue, pink, violet, and white as a, often described, tribute to his late wife.”
