Blanco Riad, Hôtel & Restaurant

“This was my husband Mohamed and my first visit to Tetouan. We were traveling with two clients, representing our boutique company, My Morocco Travel. We never like to arrive somewhere blindly—we always prefer to experience a place ourselves first. We were genuinely relieved (and impressed) by Riad Blanco. Choosing to stay in the medina was absolutely the right decision, especially for how we design our future itineraries in Tetouan. The riad felt like a perfect introduction to the city—warm, intimate, and very well located, just steps from the Royal Palace. The patio is especially lovely—quaint, inviting, and a place where you immediately feel at ease. We had a wonderful meal there. Mohamed ordered the goat tagine, which was exceptional—rich, tender, and deeply flavorful. We also shared a salad that was fresh and beautifully prepared. Overall, Riad Blanco gave us exactly what we were looking for, and most importantly, our clients left happy.”

“This place is a very lovely spot, gorgeous and the staff are very kind and obliging, our waiter especially was lovely. Unfortunately my partner order the chicken couscous and the chicken was ice cold in the middle. He noticed because he had checked at first and the outside pieces were hot but as he dug in he recoiled and had to spit out the cold piece. When we complained the waiter quickly whisked it away and then came back with the same plate of food within a couple of minutes, reheated. We asked for the bill and explained that the problem was not that the food went cold but that it hadn’t been heated up properly. The waiter told us that the chicken had been kept in the fridge or freezer and then heated up in a microwave before being served. We said that this can be very dangerous if not done properly and after he called his manager he kindly removed the chicken couscous from our meal. Thankfully my partner was not ill - he has a very strong stomach. The place had a nice atmosphere but I would say not a good spot for food if you’re worried about food poisoning or your food being reheated from frozen. I had the vegetable pastilla which was quite mid tbh. The place seemed clean, the toilets were okay, if not a bit close to the kitchen. Again lovely waiter though.”

“A lovely restaurant in the courtyard of Riad Blanco. They have a separate menu with gluten-free options. I had the fish tagine of the day. It was good and I didn't suffer any reaction at all.”

“The least pleasant aspects, compared to other riads we stayed at: The internet was terrible. Most of the time we had no internet, even sheet trying to reconnect multiple times. The terrace had a large smoking area, so on the whole rooftop in the late afternoon it was packed with smokers making it impossible to enjoy the non smoking area, plus it was not decorated in any way. It was not a pleasant place to hang out. Also the breakfast was boring, with some if the stuff wrapped in plastic ( mass produced mini muffins), very little jam for the bread, the server never came back for more coffee, little milk to share for the two of us.. . Staircase: a couple of steps were very narrow and angled, so carrying the luggage down was challenging and precarious The good aspects: shower was big and had hot water, and the heater worked. Good location, easy to find. Just tell your driver to drop you off at the Cinéma Espagnol. Staff members were nice.”

“The place is incredible the architecture the design the decor its all good and it represents the Moroccan traditional tetouane style in the best way every thing about this place is incredible however we had the worst experience ever first the staff are the most rude people and im sure that everyone who visits this place never comes back because of the awful experience all the members of the staff are supposed to be helpful welcoming charming to such a place instead so rude so disrespectful and so ignorant the rooms smell the food is a scam its not a traditional Moroccan food for the price you expect something good but you cannot finish the plate i hope that my review is considered because it pains me to see such an iconic place instead the wrong hands”
