“My brother needed a pair of new reading/magnifying glasses after having just had two successful cataract surgeries in Morocco. While staying in Essaouira, he lost his reading glasses, but almost next door to our riad in Zagora, we discovered a great optometrist shop called Nakhil Optique. Upon entering, we were delighted with the air conditioning. At one desk, we were assisted by a polite young woman who showed my brother different frames and he said he needed inexpensive reading glass frames. The woman asked him to have an eye exam in another room. He stressed that he needed the glasses within 48 hours before leaving Zagora. The woman said the glasses would be ready the next day about 5 o'clock. The following morning we returned to the shop and the woman said come back in one hour to get the eyeglasses. This is clearly the place to visit when you need a professional eye examination and designer or simple frames. Soft and gas permeable contact lenses are also available for purchase. There are several other locations for Nakhil Optique, including one in Ouarzazate.”
