Dar Besmellah

“I had a wonderful stay at Dar Besmellah and ended up extending my stay for four nights. It is a lovely family run homestay, the family live on the second floor, and the guest on the third. The accommodation is simple and basic, but very clean, comfortable, and full of artistic character. The bed was comfortable, the mountain view from the window was beautiful, and the fresh air and peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect place to relax. I loved waking up to birds singing and the gentle rhythm of local life. The location is very convenient, right in the heart of the old town, with the main square, cafés, and restaurants all within walking distance. The rooftop offers stunning views of Chefchaouen and the surrounding mountains. It became my favorite place to enjoy food, practice yoga, meditate, write postcards, and watch the sunset unfold over the blue town. The family are artists, and their handmade artwork gives the house a unique and authentic charm. Said, the owner, is a kind and welcoming gentleman, and the whole family made me feel at home with their warmth and generosity. One of my favorite stays in Morocco, and I would happily return.”

“We couldn't get there for our stay and they kindly allowed us to stay a few days later instead, albeit for a small price increase. Communication was a bit of an issue and we weren't sure until we go there, so we had other places lined up in case.||The hosts were very friendly and genuine, a seemingly great family. Couldn't ask for more from them. Offered us the choice of two rooms at different prices and we chose the cheaper one with all the character and art on the walls. ||Unfortunately this room was also right on street level, with a window leading straight out. I couldn't recommend this place for anyone wishing for a quite night, with kids playing on the streets until 3am; though, If you don't mind the heat, you could close the window.||The rooftop was great and the views were stunning, Chefchaouen itself beautiful, the hosts lovely, good value, and overall we had a wonderful time.”
