“I randomly found this skewer spot right next to the Blue Gate, and it ended up being one of my favorite meals in Morocco. The skewers were perfectly seasoned with amazing flavor and just a slight kick of spice, grilled fresh right in front of you. He charges by weight, and for three of us, 10+ skewers came out to only 65 MAD (~$7 USD), which is an incredible value. You’re eating right on the side of the road, which made the experience feel very local and authentic. Right across the way there’s a fruit stand and another vendor selling water and fresh juice, so we grabbed drinks there too. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The owner runs everything himself and does an amazing job. It was so good that we came back again the next night—the only place I’ve eaten twice during my trip. It’s clearly popular for a reason. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!”

“After a horrible 5 hours journey by bus I just get kicked of the bus close to this place and I was feeling for some bbq, actually a very first one in Morocco for me, the uncle prepared a great feast for me within 10-15 minutes, oh man, this was just brilliant and for 90 Dirhams?! “Great local find if you're up for some meat skewers. Visiting during Ramadan has its perks as its quiet until the locals break for iftar! The one-man-show griller was very friendly. We sat at the back, one big table for up to 6 people, but its a squeeze. He served us some bread, olives and tea! Very sweet. Next came the salad with the array of skewer mixed meats we requested. Overall prices were very reasonable, about 90Dhr for all! Be prepared, if sitting inside at the back you might end up smelling like bbq smoke, but it didnt bug me”

“Simple, humble and authentic. We ordered two chicken sandwich and requested for some camel meat mixed in it. It was fab. Simple but tasty. The meat was super well marinated and possibly the best meat we had so far. Remember to request for no chili if you can’t take spice. It was nice sitting along the butcherie people watching ☺️ Owner was also super kind and nice!”

“Authentic spot in the middle of the busy medina. Seats about 5 people street side then few more inside. We got the salad, eggplant (favourite), chicken skewers, and mixed meat plate. All up 140DH. Prices are a bit peculiar some missing off the menu but tasty and reasonable for Fes.”
