Restaurant Asmae

“Our guide brought us here for lunch, promising vegetarian food and salads. When we sat down and looked at the menu, we were shocked by the prices—it was a set meal rather than à la carte. Each meal was 200 DH, My daughter checked the reviews and wanted us to leave, but we felt it would be rude, so we decided to order a small portion. I’m so glad we stayed. The meal turned out to be amazing. We started with 8–9 different salads, along with soup and bread. This was followed by the main course: vegetable pastilla and tagine. After that came coconut cookies and tea. Just when we thought lunch was over, a large plate piled with about ten oranges was brought to the table. We paid 440 DH for 3 people. Yes, the price was high, but the quantity and quality of food more than justified it. We’ve paid more for far worse meals at other restaurants in Morocco. I would eat here again in a heartbeat.”

“Today we visited Restaurant Asmae in the old Medina of Fes. It’s a great place (Riad) to taste fantastic flavors of traditional Marocaine dishes, such as taijine, vegetarian, chicken or lamb. We can recommend the zucchini’s in warm honey with goat cheese… amazing! Next to dishes, the restaurant provides great athmosphere in traditional Marocaine style and service.”

“A tourist trap. Our guide brought us there and we paid 60 euro or more for 2 adults, which is super expensive for Moroccan standards. First of all they didn’t give us a menu, and in the beginning they said that it will 20 euro per person including a mint tea. At the end I don’t understand how and why we overpaid. Moreover, I was vomiting the whole day after that food at this restaurant. My stomach still hurts after 24 hours. DONT GO!”

“Very expensive prices. The menu is nice but average, nothing special. Also on top of the bill we were charged a 10% tax which we had no idea about as it was not presented anywhere (no other restaurant charged us this kind of tax). The place is nicely decorated,staff is nice and polite but we ended paying 490 MAD for 2 persons which is way more that you would pay in an average moroccan restaurant.”

“We had a pretty good meal at this restaurant. Our guide took us here for lunch and we had a very tasty meal. We ordered a pastilla which was delicious and also a lamb tajine. Both were incredibly good! It is more expensive than other restaurants but it was worth the money!”
