“Cafe des Épices is one of the most popular spots in Marrakech, so finding a table can be difficult, especially during peak hours. That said, the waiting time is usually reasonable if you’re willing to be patient. The menu offers a wider variety of dishes than many other cafés in the Medina, making it a good option for different tastes. The prices are also quite fair considering its popularity and central location. One of its biggest highlights is the rooftop terrace, which offers beautiful views over the Medina and creates a great atmosphere, especially around sunset. The food itself is generally very good and more flavorful than at many tourist-oriented restaurants nearby. There are plenty of options to choose from, and most dishes are well-prepared and satisfying. However, service can be inconsistent. Orders can occasionally get mixed up, and food may take quite a while to arrive. Table cleanliness could also be improved, as it is not uncommon to be seated at a table that has not been properly wiped down. Despite these issues, the quality, variety, and reasonable prices make it a place that many visitors will still enjoy.”
“What’s more difficult to have a seat for a large group but we managed it as we came just a few minutes before way more people arrived. The selection of food is great, many options to accommodate vegetarian, pescatarian, and meat diets. The time we came it was a little bit busy, so I took a while (but not too long) to get our food, the waiters seemed to be stressed. I believe this is due to high popularity of this place. I recommend visiting this place in low business times, otherwise it could be too busy during lunch or dinner time hours.”
“The food is very good, though the portions aren't huge—I ordered the breakfast set and a bit more bread would have been nice. It wasn't the absolute best breakfast in Marrakesh, but combined with the 'panoramic view' (you can only see a few nearby rooftops), it’s definitely worth a visit. The place is pleasant, clean, and beautifully decorated—it really stands out compared to other local spots. Friendly service and decent prices, closer to European standards. Worth checking out once!”
“Great breakfast place even for budget travelers, if you want to treat yourself a little! :) Maybe the portions could be a little bigger, but overall excellent environment and service. Definitely recommend!”
“Is a well located restaurant in the heart of the Medina, but we were disappointed with the quality of food - had the tagine but was served open in the pan without the top lid and the chicken was not as well softened and marinated as elsewhere. We had some local cake for dessert, it was stone hard! Service is ok, and the rooftop view was great with a lovely view of the Atlas mountains. Is on three levels and all of them are nice in their own way. Place was mostly full on a weekday afternoon when we were there.”
“Called in for some lunch during our trip to marrakech. Slight queue, but very quick service despite this. Beautiful menu and beautiful food. We ordered both the chicken and fish tagines, a lentil salad and some potato sides. Everything was beautiful! For drinks we tried the spiced coffees. Highly recommend!”
