“Overall a good stay, with a few things to improve We had a generally good experience at the riad. Compared to other reviews we read beforehand, our room was actually quite nice. It was clean, well maintained, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which was very important given the heat. The housekeeping staff was lovely — very attentive, cleaning the room daily and providing fresh towels, which we really appreciated. There was a noticeable smell coming from the bathroom, but we understand that this is quite common in the Medina and likely outside of the riad’s control. The riad itself is beautiful, well kept, and has a very nice atmosphere. The staff overall were extremely kind and welcoming, and we felt well treated during our stay. Breakfast was good but quite simple — orange juice, pancakes, bread for toast, and tea or coffee. Tasty, but not very varied or particularly filling. One downside was the terrace area. We were looking forward to relaxing by the pool, but unfortunately it smelled strongly like cat urine, and the pool was covered and not well maintained. We only stayed for about 10 minutes before going back to our room. Another inconvenience was the airport pickup. We arranged a transfer through the riad, but ended up waiting for about an hour at the airport. We understand traffic can be busy, but since our arrival time was known in advance, better organization would have made a big difference. We also didn’t have Wi-Fi at the airport, which made communication difficult, and it was quite stressful trying to figure out where to meet the driver among so many people. Lastly, we tried the spa service, which unfortunately was disappointing. The experience was not very relaxing — one of the therapists was using her phone (watching TikTok/Instagram), which was distracting due to both light and sound, and at times the massage felt poorly executed. While one of the therapists was more attentive, the overall experience lacked professionalism. We also found it unhygienic that the massage started with the feet and ended on the face and hair without proper transition or hygiene measures. Additionally, being directly asked for a tip at the end felt a bit uncomfortable. Because of this, we would not recommend the spa service. In summary, the riad itself is lovely, clean, and has a very kind staff, but there are a few areas — especially the terrace, airport transfer organization, and spa service — that could be improved to make the experience truly great.”
“The Riad Amina was a horrible experience. I suppose they can’t be blamed for the sewer gas smell coming from the bathroom since it’s a really old building in the Medina, but the general lack of repair was bad—mold on the bathroom ceiling, crumbling tiles, worn-out furniture and a dirty rug. The pictures of my “suite” didn’t match the room. The worst part was the lack of air conditioning. It had an air conditioner that only blew hot air. We got there too late the first night to find other accommodations. I let the management know about the issue early in the morning. They kept saying they were fixing the issue. At one point in the afternoon a staff member went with me to the room to verify the heat, and agreed that the air conditioner was blowing hot air. At 11:30pm a repairman actually came but gave up around 12:30am. I slept maybe 4 hours in a room that was around 35 Celsius. In the morning the staff said the repairman would be back. I gave it ‘til noon that day and booked another hotel. When I went to check-out, the guy in the office was confrontational. I just wanted to check-out. What an awful experience. Lack of sleep will really ruin a vacation. I wasn’t offered any refund or compensation despite checking-out a full 24 hours early.”
“Very friendly personal, smooth and easy transfer from airport, delicious breakfast, the rooms are clean, towels were changed every day.We made a hammam and massage, was very relaxing,it was an authentic Morocco feeling to stay in this Riad.We loved it with my wife.”
“The rooms are a bit basic, the staff are very friendly and cheerful, the location is a little far away at 1.5 km from Jemaa el-Fna square but it's not a problem, there are very cheap taxis to get there, quite good overall”
