“Despite it's far from a taxi drop off area walking to the place. I was lucky that a Moroccan man help me find it. The riad is so nice and lovely plus the staffs are helpful too. My cute room for a solo traveler is just fine with me and even though I was expecting the standard room for me. Buy that's fine.”
“We got this through easyJet holidays, with private transfer. After leaving airport you then go to the taxi rank where easyJet stall is and they make you take a pic of a qr code to complete a day before you leave. Taxi there was pleasant, the roads are chaos however. We arrived early on Sunday at about 1pm, check in is 2pm we sat around waiting g for a little while and kept getting told 5 minutes. An easyJet lady appeared, she was helpful until she offered us a discounted €100 tour guide that she would reduce to €80, this didn’t seem very in line with easyJet. And was forceful about booking excursions via get your guide and told us not to trust them and to book with her instead (we did book with get your guide and it was the best part of the holiday, highly recommend). The riad itself the location is a little bit of quiet in chaos, it is traditional and beautiful. The pool was getting re-grouted as the manager told us this was upkeep to avoid cuts from tiles with it being traditional. Our room was Congo - room 9. I enjoyed the bed, it was lovely and big. Lovely pillows and many of them. The blanket is a sheet and thick blanket, one was shredded on the end which was annoying when you got your foot stuck in it through the night. The curtains didn’t cover us properly so we used the other blanket as another curtain so nobody could look in and the window is on the public to the hotels walk way/hall. The lights flickered and the plug sockets are aged and borderline faulty on one side as would not hold the plug in. The tv needed an extension lead and would only plug in in a certain position. There was Netflix and Amazon prime, prime didn’t work but Netflix did thankfully after logging in. The fridge is very noisy. The whole road itself is awfully noisy, definitely reccomend ear plugs as the door bell rings and door bangs when people want to get in. You hear people walking past your room and it can be very noisy when they are setting up for breakfast. They decorated my room for my birthday which was lovely to see and explained why we kept getting told 5 mins, I was greatful for this as the effort goes a long way and I slept well each night with what we had. The bathroom was questionable, very wonky and the hot water would only work if tap was turned on. The rooms were cleaned daily to a lovely standard but we were left after the first day with only two towels no hand towels or floor towels so had to use the dressing gowns on the back of the door as the water would go everywhere. The location is very close to the souks and you don’t hear the hustle and bustle of it. A lot of cats to feed so I would recommend grabbing some dreamies. The breakfast was really good, I loved the crepes so much! We asked for cappuccinos each morning and they were lovely. For free, it’s amazing a you can go enjoy the terrace and rooftop area. The thing that worried me most is day before I scanned the qr code for easyJet as told, and it says you will receive a text etc and I didn’t. I was waiting for my taxi as it said and ready to leave and I checked with what seemed to be the manager and he told me he will arrange one, so even though easyJet does not say this if you haven’t a private transfer I would definitely say to inform the manager incase they are not aware. I did overall enjoy my stay here, but I do think I would have rather of stayed in a hotel or resort a bit further out to not feel as drained. The young lads are lovely and helpful every day, and than you to the one who would help us each morning and with the suitcase.”
“My experience of the Riad was spoilt at the end. I stayed there for a week and booked through Last minute. I have high functioning autism and some mobility issues initially. The day manager was extremely accommodating and moved me to a ground floor room as there is no lift and climbing stairs all the time with arthritis is an issue. Also I smoke and he made provision to allow me to smoke in the servant entrance so I didn't have to go out late at night all the way through the building. However I was told off like a child for talking on the phone and smoking outside by another staff member ( even though other guests have made noise in the riad). Later for them to backtrack and say it was because there was new guests with a baby staying. Had they said that in the first place I would of been quiet and smoked out the front but that was not what they said. Then they tried to charge me for a soft drink I didn't have. But what completely spoilt it was I went to another city for 2 nights. I made sure all the local taxes were paid in advance. The morning I checked out I was very unwell with extremely swollen feet. Plus i already have bad arthritis. There's no help to get your bags from the hotel to any taxi pick up points. You have to walk through the market. I asked the person who had told me off if he knew where the collection location was and he said I do not know. I had only 5 minutes to leave and find it and get it to catch my flight As I was leaving he insisted I needed to pay the local taxes which I'd already paid. And I had told him the night before. He repeated twice that I hadn't paid knowing I was not well and would lose my connection due to him delaying me. I refused to pay as I'd already paid. And said some strong words to him Hence this review On a positive note. The hotel is actually beautiful I do not think some of their staff like critisicm. The day manager was brilliant but it spoilt things dealing with the other staff member”
“Very Basic hotel, located off Souk (market) streets in a very quiet area. Very close to the main square for taxis and in the heart of the market for shopping. The hotel consists of two buildings attached to each others one with tiny rooms and another with larger rooms. Both buildings got a "pool" the large building got the large "pool" and the small building got the small "pool" which is a bit inconvenient and makes it's hard to walk around and enter the two rooms on the ground floor with hazards of slipping when there is water.”
“My experience at Riad Africa was absolutely wonderful. The place is beautiful, clean, and very well organized, with a calm atmosphere that reflects true Moroccan hospitality. Special thanks to Hassan, the reception staff member, for the warm welcome and high professionalism. Always smiling, helpful, and attentive to every request, which made my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Riad Africa to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Marrakech. It definitely won’t be my last visit.”
