“Tourists be extremely careful. I was charged 550 MAD for a beard shape-up and hot towel shave. That’s roughly £45–£50 and, unbelievably, more expensive than many premium barbers in central London. As it was my first day in Marrakesh, I wasn’t familiar with local prices or the currency, so I paid without questioning it. It was only afterwards, after speaking with several locals, that I realised just how outrageous the charge was. For context, a beard trim or shape-up in Marrakesh would typically cost around 30–50 MAD, while a good quality haircut would usually be around 80–120 MAD. Even allowing for a more upmarket establishment, 550 MAD for a beard trim and shave is completely disproportionate. What makes this even more concerning is that I noticed the pricing menu had been turned out of my view when it came time to pay. There was no clear discussion of the final price before the service began. The service itself was entirely average. There was nothing about the experience that justified a price tag higher than what I would expect to pay in London, one of the most expensive cities in the world. After realising how badly I had been overcharged, I attempted to contact the business using the phone number they advertise. Unsurprisingly, nobody answered. I am leaving this review so that other tourists do not make the same mistake. If you choose to visit, insist on agreeing the exact price before sitting down. Based on my experience, the risk of being massively overcharged is very real. 550 MAD for a beard trim and hot towel shave in Marrakesh is not a premium price. It’s a rip-off.”
“Very bad experience. From the moment I entered, I felt like they despised me because of my look and outfit. The first thing they showed me was the prices, like they were judging whether I could afford it or not. I said okay, then I sat down, and they brought me a very young barber who looked around 16. He asked me again if I saw the prices. I said yes. Then he asked me a second time, which was very disrespectful. Because of my look, they gave me that barber to learn on my head. The haircut was horrible. He was violent and rough with my curly hair. He shaved too strongly, hurt me, pushed my head aggressively when cutting the back, and used the shaving machine with too much force. I told him to cut my hair evenly, but he ruined it completely. My hair was not at the same level, and the shape was bad. I had been growing my hair for 3 months, and he destroyed it in one cut. Even when washing my hair, he rubbed it very strongly and carelessly. I don’t suggest this place to anyone who wants a good haircut.”
“Very good hair cut and beard shaving, real proffesionals. Spacy and well equiped barber salon. Recommend!”
“The place is amazing, and the barber is both skilled and friendly. I walked in without a reservation, and they provided me with one of the best services I've experienced while traveling abroad. Since I'm currently on a round-the-world trip, I usually carry a photo of my haircut from Japan as a reference. The haircut I received today was perfect. When it was time to pay, I noticed that I didn't have enough cash, but they kindly accepted my credit card. I would definitely visit this barber again if I'm in Marrakech.”
“I Shaeve was professional, friendly, and paid excellent attention to detail throughout the service. The quality of work exceeded my expectations, and I really appreciated the care and effort from Abdul”
“Nice receptionist and welcome to barber shop, but my barber was disengaged and did not cut hair according to request. Turbo cut in 10-15 minutes with limited interaction. He seemed more interested with what was happening outside.”
