“I had the best ever grilled fish here, just plain and simple, cooked on a bbq outside with a bit of salt, served with lemon and some bread. Perfect! Tiny place, certainly lived up to it's reviews. I'll be back!”
“The place feels very aithentic, you see the food being prepared in front of your eyes and the fish is fresh. The griller fish was very tasty, however the grilled squid I would not recommend. If you expect a big grilled squiq, don’t take it, it was small squids with a weird alsmost earthy taste. As long as you stick with the grilled fish and sardines you will have a great time!!!”
“I had my first Tagine at chez Fatima a couple of weeks ago and it was amazing, but not wanting to only try one place, I went off and tried a number of others in Essaouira since. But yesterday I went back for another and it confirmed my suspicions, it is the best Tagine I've had in Morocco by far! Rich in spices, a generous portion, flavourful to the last caramlised bite. A no frills hole in the wall resteraunt that has a homely charm with friendly and welcoming owners. I can see why everyone who eats there has a big smile on their face (which is I tried it the first time)”
“Had a pleasure to visit this tiny restaurant last month during my trip to Essaouira. Fatima was an excellent host, very welcoming and serving delicious food. Harira soup portion was generous and the seafood was super fresh. I will definitely visit again.”
“We found Chez Fatima through her good reviews on Google and we were not disappointed. This place is super cosy and feels a little like she's cooking you dinner in her kitchen. When we arrived she told her recommendations which my partner went for - Seafood Tajine, I decided to go for grilled sardines. Fatima and her chef built the barbecue nearby and we watched the fish get grilled. The seafood Tajine and grilled sardines were superb, followed by mint tea that was the best we've had in the month we've been in Morocco. I would advise future visitors to get whatever Fatima recommends as the Tajine had been slowly cooked throughout the day - like an authentic Tajine is. Fatima was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The experience was very authentic and incredibly cheap even with a big tip!”
“We've been coming here every summer for years and I'm always greeted with a big hug and smile by Fatima. I usually bring fish from the market and have it grilled/fried by her (or her husband). She serves bread, tea, fries, salad and sometimes grilled veggies with it. There are also very good looking tajines available, but when I'm in Essaouira, I want fish...”
