“One of the best menus I’ve had in Morocco. And everything is cooked right in front of you when you enter downstairs with amazing service. Easily my go to spot in Essaouira!”
“I had a wonderful experience at Chez Jamila. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented every dish tasted homemade with a touch of elegance. The staff were so welcoming and attentive, making us feel comfortable throughout the meal.”
“Really incredible food for a fantastic price. I forget the name or the starters but they were incredible! The bread was fresh and the staff friendly! Would recommend me for a great local experience. Vegetarian tagine was excellent”
“Traditional underrated place to eat. The ladies from here are very nice and you can order either in French or English. We took the Marocan traditional soup harira which was absolutely delicious, some tajine and cous cous which were good. We could not finish everything. They brought some bread on the house for the soups. The tajine was a bit oily for my taste, but still ok. The praces for the food on this street are way cheaper than on some other main streets in Essaouira, Morocco. I recomand to eat in the area, with good traditional food and low prices. They have only a few tables outside, but you can go to the neighbour restaurants, because there are plenty.”
“Perhaps we had bad luck with the dishes we chose - neither tasted good. Too much salt in the shrimp tagine, and too much sugar in the beef / prune tagine. Service was prompt, nice atmosphere and it's a very affordable place for dinner. However I wouldn't return, or recommend.”
“Had two fish tajines, a starter and two softdrinks. Waited over one hour for the starter and another 20min for the main dishes. People that arrived later than us had already eaten. Food quality was fresh and hot, however the tajines were quite oily. I still would be fine with all of that but in the end we were charged much more than on the menu. Just a matter of fairness to give a bad rating here”
