“This was my first time in Essaouira and a local friend brought us to this little spot hidden inside the alley. The restaurant is very simple, small, and totally local, but the food and the people made it one of my favorite meals in Morocco.😋 Here you can buy your own seafood from the market and they cook it for you, or you can just tell them what you want and they’ll help you choose. We had super fresh grilled sardines, a big fish tagine, Moroccan salad, fries, and mint tea. Everything tasted amazing — clean flavors, fresh fish, perfect grill, very authentic. The chefs were so friendly and fun to talk with. They even let us stand behind the counter and watch them cook. It really felt like eating in someone’s home. If you want a real local seafood experience in Essaouira, not tourist style, this is the place. We definitely recommend it, and we’ll come back again next time we visit this beautiful coastal city.🌊”
One of the best fish dinners i ever had, super fresh and tasty, Very friendly, if you are into authentic local food, thats where to go. I wanted to have Shrimp Tajin, it was over, they bought some Calamari from the market infront of them, and spontaneously made the best Calimari Tajin ever
“Great experience in a very traditional Moroccan grill place. Thank you Simo and Abdelkrim for you very warm welcome and showing us how to eat great food from directly picked in the souk and cooked by your good hands.”
“A must-visit spot in Essaouira! This is where you find truly authentic and incredibly fresh fish. The grilled sardines were the best we had on our trip. Simo and Abdelkrim are fantastic hosts—very welcoming and friendly. Great food, excellent value, and a real local atmosphere. Forget the port restaurants; eat here for the best experience!"”
“We had a fantastic experience here! The food was delicious and authentic, and the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for in a traditional Moroccan restaurant. A special shout-out to the staff, who were incredibly friendly and welcoming. If you are in Essaouira, I highly recommend stopping by!”
“An absolute must if you’re in Essauoria, best food me and my partner have had in Morocco. Staff are extremely friendly and gave recommendations as we were unsure what to have from the extensive menu. The ‘mixed seafood grill’ was superb, quality and quantity!”
