“We had great time in this Dar, the room on the rooftop is the best room with bathroom inside with nice terrace and view of Medina. The people also was really helpful and if you stay there for more than one day, you'll find this place not difficult to find, since it's not so far from main street also with the signage to the Dar.”
“Very nice place with pretty decoration. The rooms are small but comfortable and cozy and everything is clean. There is breakfast that is freshly made in the morning including bread, pancakes, coffee and tea. Laundry service for 50 MAD was very useful. Location is in the heart of the medina so everything can be reached within a few minutes walking.”
“Room nice and comfortable, on the rooftop and private bathroom (needed soap BTW) Personnel kind and always available for everything The location at night can be scary More choice for breakfast”
“The staff is not very kind... When we arrived the lady that welcomed us told us to go the wrong way to get to the main street in the Medina (after Sunset, it was very dark in the alleys) we got lost thanks to her, and when we came back in panic as we couldnt find our way and asked the lady for help she just repeated the same instruction (turn left for the Blue Gate when it was actually right) we advised her that we couldn't find it and she acted like it was super obvious and refused to help any further. The right way was a 1 minute walk, literally about 100 meters, she could've went out with US and pointed in the right direction. We ended up not having dinner that night as they don't serve food besides breakfast and we couldn't find our way on the dark alleys. The breakfast was quite weak comparing to other Morocco places we've stayed in and you can only pay with money, no card. Besides this the couple asks you for the money straight away, we didnt have the money with us when we arrived and they insisted on the 2nd day on receiving the money, usually we prefer to pay on check-out but apparently they created this rule that you have to pay up front in cash. Wouldn't recommend this accomodation to anyone being that Fez Medina is known as the worlds largest labyrinth and the owners refuse to assist you on finding your way plus any GPS apps (Google Maps for instance) don't work in the Medina and you are constantly chased by strangers making you go on the wrong way on purpose so that you get lost and have to pay them money to assist you. Terrible experience in general”
“Beautiful old interior, like artwork. Super-friendly staff. The bathroom is shared and it's very small, no shower curtain, but it's completely fine for me. Bed was a bit hard too, but for this price, it's nothing I care about. Really good value for money. The riad is a bit hard to find as well, but hey, this is the Fès medina - the whole place is like a labyrinth and getting lost is the main fun here.”
“BEWARE THEY DON'T HAVE PRIVATE BATHROOMS. We paid for a room that they advertised to have it, but they don't have such thing, all rooms have shared bathrooms but depending on how much you pay you will get a smaller or bigger one. When we arrived we told the manager the situation and he said " don't worry this room is good" and he opposed to providing a solution. Thankfully Booking stepped in and spoke to the property which finally offered a partial refund. Apart from that incident, the rest was great. Good location 10 minute walking from the Blue Gate (main entrance to Medina), amazingly decorated, nice terrace.”
