“BEST restaurant IMO. Le Makassar delivered an exceptional experience from start to finish. The live piano player set an upbeat, elegant tone, and the food was phenomenal — the seafood pastilla was flaky perfection, and the lamb and prune tagine was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The staff went above and beyond, with the manager and kitchen team personally checking in, and the waiters adding to the fun. Shoutout to Ismail and Youssef. Plus their grey wine recommendation was spot on. Architecturally the building is a beauty… and affordable prices for such quality made this my favorite dining experience in Marrakesh — easily rivaling Fes. The perfect way to celebrate my last night! You will have fun, have a top notch night, and eat great food - I promise.”

“I chose this restaurant for Christmas Eve based on the many positive reviews. During the booking process, I asked whether it would be possible to order à la carte, which was confirmed. However, a few days beforehand, we — a family of four — were informed that only a set menu would be available, priced at 790 dirhams (approx. €75) per person. This was not really what we were looking for, but we accepted, as it would have been difficult to switch to a restaurant of similar quality shortly before Christmas, given the high number of tourists in the city. We had a reservation for 8:00 pm, and once seated, we were told that the main course would only be served at 11:30 pm (!), which was unacceptable for us. They then proposed 10:00 pm, which we agreed to. Later, however, they decided to serve both the starter and the main course immediately to all tables. Although the service was friendly, I did not quite understand how this situation was handled. The food itself was okay, but not at all in line with the price of the menu. The dishes were not served at the same time, and the plates were not heated, causing the food to become cold very quickly. I ordered the duck breast (magret de canard), which was served without any side dishes. At the end of the meal, the staff insisted that we scan a QR code to leave a positive review on TripAdvisor. Being interrupted like this was very unsettling. If guests wish to leave a review, they should be free to do so later. Overall, the experience was disappointing. Although I initially planned to return to eat à la carte, I have since abandoned those plans.”
