“1 star is too many! I would not visit this place again if the food were free! Horrible waste of time and money, and the service was the worst part! Morroccan cuisine is wonderful, so don't waste an opportunity to enjoy a meal in Marrakesh by spending any time here.”
“Ok. It doesn’t happen often. But a catcher caught us and walked us half a mile to eat here. First of all the staff is super nice and friendly. Even when you can hear the whispers of what catcher brought in the latest guests. Let’s put that aside. Ok. The food. A set menu. Mixture of veggies and olives - various flavors and spices - pretty good, second dish. A deep fried chicken with Cinnamon and white powdered sugar was - ok for me and my wife ate it all - so that was good as far as personal tastes. The main course - the Tagine with lamb was very tasty and tender and filled with flavor. The couscous and veggies were quite tastey and very delicious. The atmosphere was beautiful. Staff is generous with their time and very nice … parts of the meal really good, while others - ok. The price tag of 750 DH or $73 US was a little steep on Marrakesh standards. But for a meal out elsewhere in Europe. It’s quite in line. Here’s a few photos. But wanted to be fair on all fronts.”
“It's a tourist restaurant with expensive prices. The food wasn't delicious and cats were walking inside, maybe looking for mices. The restaurant has events during your meal in which you have to pay and it leaves but sense. 1 beer 50 dirhams = 5 euro 1 plate couscous with a smell of beef = 100 dirhams = 10 euro Not worthed.”
“Don’t go here! It’s awful and I would give 0 stars if possible. A guide took us here and promised good food and alcohol. The cocktail was the worst drink I’ve ever had. No ice just mysterious fluids. A couple next to us had food arrived and were complaining. We refused the food. They only had a set menu. They didn’t have a menu to say what you would be eating. I accidentally went downstairs looking for the toilet. Legit wouldn’t have been surprised to have found a dead body. It was ghastly and I could hear the scary noises from the kitchen. The belly dancer was accompanied by soul destroying music. See picture attached.”
“This place was recommended by the front desk guy at the hotel “Riad baboutcha & Spa hotel”, and to make the story short we pay really overpriced. The total we payed was 20 euros p/p, for a big dish like you see on the photos, the full meal was for 6 persons and included entree, main dish, dessert, drinks and coffee. It seems like a very complete lunch, but at other places in the city center on a more tourist spot we payed 5-10 euros less, and we had one dish per person and not just big share plates. The food was good, no complains there. The ambience of the place was not good, it was dark, all curtains close, light way too dim, toilets were a mess, dirty, no paper. I used the toilet hand blower and a bug flew out from its inside. The service was fast, and the staff was really nice and welcoming. Our waiter was a great guy. This place needs improvement and accommodate the prices to the city average. There are incredible good places out there for half the price of this one. 3/5 because we liked the staff and the food, but they charge us too much and the ambience was really unwelcoming.”
“We were taken by the old man who showed us medina. Since we didn't trust the guy so already we were doubting the restaurant. When we walked in and saw the menu, something was off. First the price is too expensive for here, 2nd the huge restaurant was empty and just a weird atmosphere. We saw only two other groups of tourists inside. So we didn't order anything and left. Pretty sure it's a tourist trap🫥”
“We had a guide who had walked around with us. He decided that we were hungry and marched us into this place. We sat down and a waiter told us what we would eat (chicken and lamb tagine) No choice offered. I wasn’t having that so I asked to see a menu. He returned with a tatty worn menu card and told us we would have the grill instead. We asked for a couple of Cokes and some time to decide. I overheard the nearest table being told there was an extra 10% charge and they didn’t look happy, nor satisfied with their experience. There were many red flags. The tired decor. The bloke sat in front of the toilets smoking. The pushy waiter. The lack of local people. I refused to order food and we just drank our Cokes. The waiter brought our guide back and tried to make a fuss that we were not eating. We sat and finished the drinks, paid and the waiter never returned with the 10dh change. If they can’t get the front of house bit right, I can only imagine the kitchen is a mess. I’m glad we never ate anything. In a place where there’s so many options to eat well, and you can check instantly on your gadget what’s good, this is a place to run away from!!!”
“Our tour guide brought us here, initially thought it was okay but as our dinner progressed we realised the quality of the food was not good at all. We weren’t given a choice for the food, was forced into the set menu, starters were average but cous Cous wasn’t nice, I have experience with traditional Cous COus but this has none of the spices or even harissa. Tagine was average. When the bill came we were overcharged. Waiter wasn’t showing us the bill and when we asked for breakdown he explained that there was a 10% service charge that we didn’t mind paying for. But when we left and calculated the bill properly realised they overcharged us by a lot. Very annoyed that they scammed us. Do not visit not worth it.”
