“We had such a positive experience with Mohamed (owner) and Mohamed (camel guide)! + Transparent prices + Delicious sumptuous food + Small camp in the desert with comfortable beds + Incredible great hospitality and friendliness We can fully recommend Merzouga Camp Hostel to anyone planning a visit to Merzouga ♥️”
“Mohammed is a really friendly and helpful host. We felt very welcome from the first Moment until the end of the stay. Everything was perfect during our stay and the prices where also really good! We would come always again to stay here. I can only recommend it!”
“Mohammed (owner of the family run guest house) is extremely helpful and we felt very welcomed from the start. The rooms were comfortable, there was hot water in the showers and the whole building looked amazing. We had breakfast for the price of the room that was really good and had a variety of options to eat. Mohammed also helped us find a mechanic when we had problems with the car. We also booked with him a trip to desert camp, our guide also called Mohammed was very energetic, enthusiastic and super helpful. In camp we had access to water and toilets, it is a basic camp but feels more authentic and has a beautiful view of the starry sky. We can highly recommend”
“Beautiful place, easy to reach, very close to the desert. The owner, Mohammed, was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic but beautifully decorated, just like the entire place. The shower and toilet were outside the room, but we felt comfortable and safe throughout our stay. Mohammed organized a camel trek for us to a desert camp, where we watched both the sunset and sunrise and spent the night in a comfortable tent after a delicious dinner. Highly recommended – it was an amazing experience!”
“It was a truly fantastic experience to stay there with Mohammed and his family. We were treated so well, as we were a part of the family ourselves. Mohammed took a great care of us and helped us when our car broke. The hostel itself is beautiful, clean and cozy, and it's close to the place where we started our adventure into the desert, also booked with Mohammed. The desert camp is small, private and very nice, the guide took a great care of us and made sure that we had the best time. We were served delicious dinner at the camp and spent a fun evening, playing music, talking and watching the night desert sky, looking for the shooting stars. Definitely recommend, it was the best choice!”
“This is a small family run guesthouse that also arranges for overnight stays in desert camps. Very good prices, good quality and good vibes. At other large camps you feel like a ‘tourist’ but this is much more intimate. We travelled to Merzouga ourselves and booked the desert camp directly through Mohammed (owner of Merzouga Camp) via WhatsApp. We went late Feb. Both the guesthouse/‘hostel’ and the desert camp are great. It’s is a ‘basic’ camp as opposed to ‘luxury’, but for one night it was fantastic. There is no hot water or heater/AC in the camp, but the tents were spacious and warm and there is a clean toilet. We booked one night in a desert camp through Mohammed. ‘Merzouga Camp’ is a guesthouse that Mohammed owns, right on the edge of the desert dunes only 300m from where the camels are kept. We met him at the guesthouse in the afternoon and he took us to the camels. It was just the two of us on the camel ride. We rode into the dunes for over an hour to find a nice spot to watch the sunset and sand board. You then ride back towards the town and stop at a camp in the dunes, near the edge of the dunes. We were the only two people in the camp - it was very peaceful. Dinner was huge and very good. They offered to light a campfire in the camp and watch the stars, or walk us to a nearby larger camp that had a campfire and people playing drums. We went to the nearby camp. It was a fun evening but it made us appreciate the peacefulness of our camp even more. The other camp was a large camp with over 30 people who had come on various tours from cities such as Marrakech. They wake you for sunrise and you watch the sunrise from a dune next to the camp, before riding the camels 30 minutes back to the town. You then have breakfast at the guesthouse which was fantastic. You can also have a hot shower at the guesthouse even if you aren’t staying in the guesthouse.”
