“This initiative itself is worth supporting it. We ate lunch and the food was super super tasty. Daily menu with soup, salad and main for 70dh. The athmosphere in the yard where you sit also quiet and nice. Make sure to eat here or just visit the store! Lots of handmade products”
“The Darna Association has been recognized as a Public Utility Association since 2000. Its mission is to protect street children from all forms of abuse and violence and to strengthen their skills, as well as those of uneducated, unemployed, and untrained youth and vulnerable Moroccan and migrant women, so that they can become self-reliant, achieve social inclusion, and access fundamental rights to life, education, and employment, through a comprehensive and integrated approach. Our association carries out its mission through four strategic areas: education, training and professional integration, health, the environment, and the performing arts.”
“Really quite and nice place - it's managed by a women association and it has a closed/fixed menu of an entry and a main dish. The price is crazy good, and the food was really really tasty. There is a small business inside too - would strongly recommend it”
“DARNA (Maison Communautaire des Femmes) is a hidden place between the Boulevard Pasteur and the Grand Socco (Place du 9 Avril 1947) that is run by women and which has a restaurant (specializing in couscous and tajines) in the ground-floor interior courtyard and also a number of shops that sell gifts. DARNA is within walking distance of the Boulevard, Place de France, Hotel El Minzah, the Medina, Kasbah, Grand Socco, Grand Hotel Villa de France and Mendoubia Gardens. All of the food at DARNA is carefully prepared every day, and there are a variety of very reasonably-priced Moroccan foods and desserts on its limited menu, and tea, cafes and Mojitos. DARNA restaurant is open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays and throughout the month of Ramadan, but the gift shop is open on Sundays.”
“It wasn’t particularly clear that they served food here and we only arrived on hearing glowing reviews. Once we asked they quickly clarified the food options and promptly served us. They provided a friendly lunchtime service with a vegetarian set menu in their sunny garden. We couldn’t see a menu or prices but risked it anyway, considered asking what they will serve and the price. (90 Dirhams per person for us). We were served by a chef in training who practised his English on us, which we enjoyed.”
“Nice fixed and cheap menu (60 dirham for first and main course) on a very quiet and leafy terrace in the shade, just a stone's throw away from the bustling and loud Grand Socco. The waiting staff is clearly not trained, but makes up the lack in experience with honest, almost shy kindness. Don't skip the lemon pie dessert, it is delicious!”
