“We had a wonderful experience at Riad Darlaabi in Fes. Even though we originally came only for breakfast, we were welcomed incredibly warmly right from the start. The riad itself is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning courtyard where we enjoyed our meal. The staff were exceptional—extremely friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. They asked us about our preferences and made sure everything was exactly as we wanted. We chose a traditional Moroccan breakfast, and it exceeded all expectations. The food was delicious, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with great care. The coffee and tea were fantastic, and the entire breakfast felt authentic and special. The location is also perfect—very central, making it easy to explore all of Fes from there. The price-performance ratio is excellent, and the service truly feels like a dream. We highly recommend not only the food but the riad itself. Next time, we would definitely choose to stay there as well, not just come for breakfast. It’s a beautiful place and absolutely worth a visit.”
“I was very disappointed with our stay at this hotel, and honestly, the overall experience was far below what we expected for the price we paid. We booked 3 rooms for the night of April 23–24, 2026, and unfortunately there were too many issues to ignore, especially for a hotel in this price range. First of all, there was no hot water, which is simply unacceptable in any hotel. Cleanliness was also a serious issue. The rooms were not properly cleaned, the floors looked like they had not been washed in a long time, and the overall condition felt neglected. Even worse, we found cockroaches in the room, which is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about hygiene standards. Breakfast was also very disappointing. The selection was poor, and the quality of the food was not good. The corn flatbreads did not taste fresh, the olives had a bad taste, the orange juice seemed to be made from old oranges, and the milk was sour. Serving food in that condition is simply not acceptable. Considering the price, the experience was far below acceptable standards. Sadly, I cannot recommend this hotel, and I would definitely not return.”
“Like the former review so kindly denied by the owner, I will reiterate in plain terms reality (it will help provide a better service in the future) - there was no hot water in the evening (I took a cold shower at 1 am like I was used to in the past in Romania when I grew up). I tried again in the morning and no hot water. I wrote on whatsapp, they said they will check. They noticed the solar panels had been switched off! 1h later because it is solar and it was cloudy I guess water was just starting to be warm. By the time we left hot water did come but it was too late, we had to check out. The other tourists must have loved Scottish showers as they are good for blood circulation. - In the morning the milk inside the coffee started fermenting and getting a bit solid. We raised this, shoulders went up and down and nothing happened. It was not in one cup but in all three... Later we saw a hotel employee that came from outside with a bread and a new fresh milk box...(noticing also the problem) We went to eat in a Riad in the Medina that had good reviews and bonus we even got a Harira soup to try We heard the ladies handling the kitchen were late in the morning, I do not mind that but there was no effort to correct the situation. Also the bread products did not look too fresh.. here I might be wrong but the other place we went for breakfast was noticeably different. - The rooms looked nice, the tea was good, the location is perfect but not admitting mistakes and improving but rather pretending they are fantasy is the wrong way to do things as a business. The owner was great, I have a feeling the employees chose to hide this reality from him maybe from fear of getting scolded.”
“We had the most time and delicious food!!! Hamza, Yousef and Mohammad gave the most amazing service and hospitality!! A truly friendly and welcoming experience.”
“10/10 Top notch place, despite our late check-in the warm welcome was surprisingly heartwarming 🫶🏼 Clean, cozy Riad, delicious traditional food was chef's kiss 👌the staff members were so sweet and helpful to each one of us. Definitely coming back! Special thanks to the owner for the hospitality, don't hesitate to ask for market recommendations.”
“We had an excellent stay at this riad! The hospitality was outstanding, and the staff truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We needed to leave early at 8:30 am, and they kindly prepared breakfast outside of regular hours just for us. The location was ideal for exploring the attractions in Fes, and we felt completely safe throughout our stay. One small note: the steps to the upper floors are quite steep, which might be challenging for older guests, but it wasn’t an issue for us. Overall, a wonderful experience that we highly recommend!”
