“We had an amazing experience at the restaurant (didn’t stay at the riad). Of course for Fes the prices were on the pricier side but it was worth it. The food was really good (I can’t say it was the most amazing gourmet meal I have ever had no… but the food utilized very high quality ingredients and simple recipes with small creative twists- the fish was amazing while the appetizer salads were VERY tasty just nothing out of this world flavor wise). The dessert was also really good (we got the crème Brûlée, mouse, and sorbet combos). The crème brûlée was out of this world while the sorbet and mouse were nothing special and we expected more. Great wines and AMAZING service and attention to detail. The staff was also very sweet in ordering us a cab and getting us a porter to walk to the parking where the cab was waiting. Overall definitely worth it if you’re in Fes, expect a tasty (not fireworks worthy) meal, fantastic wines, amazing service, and incredible ambience and elegance.”
“Dar Roumana was exactly as advertised, beautiful, luxury, and a true highlight of our time in Fes. Even during the quieter season, the staff was incredibly attentive and ensured every detail of our stay was perfect. No ask, was too great. This gem of a spot was the best Riad/Dar experience we had in Morocco and would easily have cost 3x in a US or Euro city. ||The Room & Amenities|The rooms are gorgeous, bright, and furnished with high-end Moroccan decor. The beds and pillows were some of the most comfortable of our trip, and the shower had excellent heat and water pressure. The rooftop offers a stunning view of the city, it’s the perfect spot for a romantic sunset.||Dining: A Must-Visit Restaurant|The food at the on-site restaurant was outstanding, creative, delicious and very reasonably priced. While the breakfast was "fine" (standard compared to the incredible dinners), it definitely got the job done. The service was incredible!||The Location & "The Walker"|A noteworthy detail: Fes is hilly, and this Dar is located high up. While this makes for a wonderful, quiet atmosphere away from the noise, the walk up at the end of the day can be a bit of a workout! BUT WORTH IT. They offer an absolute 5-star service: a staff member will walk you to and from dinner in the Medina. This was such a treat, as the streets can be confusing at night. (Note: Please remember to tip your walker; it is a service well worth it!)||Pro Tip: Have the hotel book your tour guide and specifically ask for Hicham. He is a 1000/10 and made our Fes experience seamless and insightful.”
“This hotel was exactly what we saw on the website. It is the quiet month so they are slow but still attentive. They provide a walker to take you to and from dinner - which is an absolute 5 ⭐️ offering! Pls tip him! Food was outstanding in the restaurant. Breakfast was fine - not incredible but got the job done. The guest service was excellent. Beds and pillows wonderful! Water pressure excellent. Fes is hilly this Dar (hotel) is located high but quiet area which is really nice but also at the end of the day - ugh 😂 This was a star of our trip! They will also book you a tour guide - asked for Hicham! He was 1000/10!”
“I took my parents here for dinner, and it was a wonderful experience. If you’ve never been in a traditional Arabic riad, this is a great place to experience one. The riad has over 400 years of history, which already makes the dining experience feel special. The waiter we had—a young local gentleman—was incredibly kind and friendly, and even offered us a tour of the riad. The food was top-notch and absolutely delicious. The rooftop view is also stunning, overlooking the Fez Medina, which itself has over 2,000 years of history. It isn’t easy to find, but we were able to locate it by walking and using Google Maps. Overall, it’s a must-experience place in Fez.”
“Had a dinner at the restaurant, which looks really nice. However the food was okay. Especially when paying that much money in Morocco I would expect better. Rubbery, burnt octopus and two prawns as a starters. Steak with mashed potatoes and veggies were tasty for main. But I wouldn’t give 5 stars for the food.”
“The riad was exquisitely beautiful, but the true highlight was the staff. Warm and friendly, helpful, kind. They thought of everything we could possibly need or want to have a special time. They brought tea to the roof with a stunning view, and prepared a delicious breakfast in the jaw-droppingly pretty courtyard. The food was so good we ate dinner in the restaurant multiple times. In the early morning and evening I sat on our balcony and just listened to the delightful chirping birds of Fes. We were grateful to the manager Redouane, who helped us to find a guide for Fes, and a driver-guide for our next stops in the Sahara and beyond. We will never forget our magical time in Fes, and at Dar Roumana.”
