“Visited Waxy O’Connor’s and it’s definitely one of the most unique venues I’ve been to in London. The place itself is absolutely huge, with lots of little cubbyholes and hidden spaces to explore. It has a real Lord of the Rings, hobbit style feel to it, which adds a fun sense of novelty and makes it stand out from your typical pub. There’s plenty of space for groups, and you could easily spend time just wandering around and taking it all in. That said, it’s not really a place for dancing or a lively night out in that sense. When we visited, we sat at the bar for a drink, and the atmosphere felt quite flat. The music didn’t really lift the mood, and overall it came across a bit more subdued than expected, which took away from the experience slightly. It’s definitely worth visiting at least once for the uniqueness and setting alone, but I’m not sure it’s somewhere I would return to regularly.”

Located in the heart of the West End near Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, it is famously cavernous, spanning six levels linked by a maze of winding staircases and stone passages. The interior is striking and unique, blending the feel of a gothic church with a dungeon; expect intricate woodwork, stained glass, intimate "nooks and crannies" for seating, and a generally dimly lit, atmospheric vibe. Waxy O'Connor's London is particularly known for: The Tree: The pub's centerpiece is a massive, preserved beech tree that was imported from Ireland and "planted" inside, rising up through the middle of the venue. Four Unique Bars: The space is divided into four distinct bars, each with its own character, allowing you to find a lively spot for music or a quieter corner for conversation. Live Sports and Music: It is a go-to destination for rugby fans (especially during the Six Nations) and regularly hosts live music, creating a loud and energetic atmosphere on game days and weekends. Irish Hospitality: True to its roots, the menu features hearty Irish classics like steak and Guinness pie, Irish stew, and oysters to accompany a wide selection of whiskies and beers. The service was remarkably good given how busy this place often is. Every staff that I interacted with had a smile on their face. I really enjoyed my time in waxy O'Connor's. You will not regret coming here 😊”

“This is definitely a very atmospheric place. I came here just to have a beer and enjoy the vibe. There’s a lot of space, and you can even get a bit lost. I’d recommend coming in the evening, but if you don’t like crowds, it’s better to visit during the day. Overall, I recommend it”
