“Ignore maps saying this place is closed. It re-opened 15 days ago after a big refurbishment and is fully open for business. Fantastic if you enjoy Moroccan barbecue meats - super fresh from the butcher counter to the charcoal. Also offering Tajines, salads and other accompaniments along with a range of drinks. Totally recommend this experience for anyone in the area.”
“Stopped by the station by chance to get some water on our way to the Riad. The bbq smell caught our interest so went up to the stop and ended up ordering some merguez which after paying at butchery asked for bbq. If you dont know arabic or french, certainly a struggle as no one speaks english. I ended up also finding tarafnout which is bread baked in oven on stones. The food was amazing so returned next day with family and ordered much more of the bbq and tagine. Tagine was good, but realized of all the bbq, the merguez was the best for me.
“Despite being a gas station, it is actually a wonderful place. Gorgeous view of the mountains we went for dinner before sunset. The food was great. You can choose between different meats and then sides/drinks from the menu. Staff were attentive. There’s clean toilets on site. A supermarket and a masjid which is super convenient and lovely. Everyone is friendly. Staff asked for a tip at the end of your dinner, but of course we had no problem with that, as they were great and very kind to us! ☺️”
“It's a very unusual setting, world class food at a gasstation. The tajine is famous and for good reason. It is possible to sit both inside and outside and there is also a prayer room. The only thing I don't like is the waiters seem to insist very badly on getting tipped a sizable amount, this can cause the light atmosphere to change immediately to something less unfortunate.”
“Must visit place. Very tasty. We had lamb tajin and it was one of the best Tajin I had. Service was good too”
“Great 👍 moroccan food 🥘 . I liked the food very much. Service was not very fast, considering the low number of guests.”
“Magnificent Moroccan food, the best we've eaten here and well worth the taxi ride out of central Marrakech. Recommended by locals, we were the only tourists. As featured on the BBC with Andi Oliver and Fred Sirieix”
“Visited today while here on holiday. Lovely hospitality. Thank you for mint tea.”
“Yes, this is a restaurant on car park of a petrol station and yet this place is a must. Everyone stops to get grilled keftas, lamb chops, Moroccan salad and french fries. This is an institution. Don’t expect a fancy restaurant. Eat on the …”
“I saw this place on a BBC documentary a few years ago. I wanted to go ever since, so I had high expectations. The food was amazing and I was far from disappointed. We had a lamb and a beef tagine and just wow! …”
