“Chez Abdelhay is a place full of true Moroccan charm and heart. From the moment you walk in, you don’t feel like a guest, you feel like family.
The food is absolutely delicious, traditional, and prepared with great care. The Moroccan tea deserves a special mention, without a doubt the best we had in the city.
What truly sets this place apart, however, are the people. The staff don’t just provide excellent service and pleasant conversation, they genuinely look after you. Khalid’s kindness went far beyond anything we could have expected. He even took me on his moped to the nearest ATM, which turned into an unforgettable experience racing through the narrow souk alleys, skillfully navigating past tourists and other scooters.
Right next door, the artisan Mohamed completed this beautiful experience. He shared fascinating stories from his life and creates wonderful pieces of jewelry by hand with incredible dedication and craftsmanship. We ended up buying all our souvenirs for friends and family from his shop.
Strengthened by the delicious tagines and Khalid’s Moroccan tea, we spent many relaxed and joyful hours there over several days, laughing, shopping, and feeling completely at home. We left not just with great memories, but with new friends we will definitely visit first on our next trip to Marrakech.
A truly authentic experience that stays with you long after you leave. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the real soul of Marrakech.”

“Chez abdelhay became a main feature of our holiday. We stayed at a Riad not far from here going for mint tea here on our first night, and we kept returning for food and for tea because the hospitality was absolutely incredible!! We felt like family by the end of our holiday. The service we received was very warm and friendly , and we always left having had a brilliant meal and such a lovely time. I can’t wait to return to Marrakesh just to return to chez abdelhay! We cannot recommend the food and service here enough. Everybody needs to go. The roof top is gorgeous for sunset and the middle levels are beautiful for the day. We loved it here! Mint & tea x”
