“Kasbah Maktob is not just a place to stay—it is a unique experience that we will never forget. This former kasbah has been lovingly restored by the owner, Mustafa, entirely by his own hands. From the moment you arrive, you can feel the history, care, and personal touch that make this place truly special. Reaching the kasbah takes a little effort, as the final part must be done on foot, but villagers kindly pointed us in the right direction and Mustafa came to meet us at the parking area. From there, everything felt calm and timeless. Surrounded by palm trees, the kasbah feels like stepping into another era. Our room was full of beautiful details, and the private terrace on the top floor—complete with a sofa—offered wonderful views over the palm grove and the surrounding village. Dinner, prepared by Mustafa himself with local ingredients, was absolutely delicious and served on a covered terrace in complete tranquility. The atmosphere alone was priceless. Breakfast was also generous and very satisfying. Although December evenings were a bit chilly, the room had modern heating and was very comfortable, with a good-quality mattress that allowed us to sleep well. What truly makes this place special is Mustafa himself: a kind, thoughtful host who answered all our questions promptly and shared fascinating stories about the kasbah and village life during our stay. This kind of kasbah experience is rare, and although it takes some effort to get there, we would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for something truly authentic.”

We had a fantastic stay and cannot say enough great things about Mustafa, whose hospitality, kindness, and attention to detail were unmatched. “Be aware that the kasbah is a short walk from the parking. It is one of the few standing kasbah in a czar that is mostly in ruin. One you get there though you will be taken by the magic of the place, the kindness of the host and the beautiful view of the gardens below. Walk around and visit the village. All worth it!”
