“We stayed at this riad for 4 days and 3 nights during most of our time in Morocco, choosing it primarily for its excellent location. While the location is indeed very convenient, our overall experience was mixed. I had relied heavily on the reviews on TripAdvisor when booking, but in hindsight, I would have also checked Google reviews for a more balanced perspective. One of the main issues we encountered was the noise—sounds from the central courtyard carry quite easily into the rooms, especially at night, which made it difficult to rest. Additionally, the bathroom did not feel as clean as expected, both in appearance and overall upkeep, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and accommodating. We appreciated that they kindly prepared a takeaway breakfast for us when we had an early morning train back to Marrakech. Overall, while the location and staff were definite highlights, there are some areas that could be improved to enhance the guest experience.”
“The staff at check-in were quite rude, and I was disappointed with the overall level of service. The room was not as clean as I expected. There were hairs on the bathroom floor, and the room itself felt very dark. Although the location was convenient, the soundproofing was poor. I could clearly hear noise from the hallway late at night, which made it difficult to rest. I also had an experience where my review on Booking.com did not appear to be published, which left me questioning the reliability of its review system. Overall, I did not feel this hotel offered good value for the price. Given the choice, I would stay elsewhere next time.”
“The only thing good is the location, otherwise completely not worth it. The bathrooms were in horrible condition: mold on the walls, rust everywhere, the shelves were falling apart and the towels had huge red / brownish stains on them. In the bedroom, the light was also crooked and hanging on by a thread, the tiles in the room were chipped and old. Some friends stayed in the same riad and their room was the same. I really do not understand the rating on booking.com. Also, when using their laundry service, we were initially charged 12€ for a small load of laundry. They said that‘s what they paid „the lady“, which is very bizzare. The breakfast was ok, nothing special - just bread, jam, coffee, juice and eggs. The staff was cold but not rude. The location is good. Overall not recommended at all. Dirty and old Edit: the owner‘s response is pathetic. We were nice enough to keep our complaints to ourselves. Upon our arrival, we followed the receptionist‘s directions to provide them our information and kindly thanked them for tea. The only deception was coming from them - our only goal was to not stay in a moldy room.”
“We made a reservation of two nights through booking (where we found really nice reviews), but at the arrival, we were told that there was a problem with the room (linked with the heating system). They used this (as a justification that it was too cold) to tell us to move and spend the first night in a nearby hotel (very disappointing place), definitely not what we paid for!! And we also saw some old reviews that that were mentioning this. In the end, we requested to cancel the booking with a refund (which they agreed without any issue). Such a pity because the place looked really nice.”
“I definitely can recommande this place. One of the best Riad I've stayed in. Located in the old town right there, when it starts. I was very happy with the service, too. The breakfast is served in the stunning main hall they have. They bring it to your table, traditional marocain breakfast. I really liked the Terrace they had. Beautiful in the morning and evening. :) They have 7 rooms, so it never gets too crowdy.”
“Wouldn't recommend staying here. Pretty loud in the evening. The room got lots of noise from the central area. Breakfast was poor. Terrible coffee. The bathroom in our room had a constant bad smell from the shower drain. The room didn't have a key. At one point one person from the personel tried to open our door while we were in the room. Quite a weird experience. It was the same guy who made us feel very uneasy from the start. Edit: 2 stars --> 1 star because now the owner is writing lies as a response to the reviews.”
