“Love this riad! Found it in booking and already knew it was good because of the reviews but it was even better. All the staff, without any exceptions was amazing, very friendly, excellent language skills, and always willing to help. We also took the hammam and massage options in the spa, highly recommend both. Breakfast was delicious and they also recommended a place to eat and somewhere to see a Moroccan show nearby. I’ll also recommend to get up early to see the sunrise from the rooftop, where you can also have breakfast. Plus, they have a lift, something quite difficult to find in Morocco.”
“This review is for Riad Dar Laura in the city of Fez. From the very first day we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms. The moment we stepped inside, we discovered a place that immediately made us feel immediately at home. The riad is beautifully maintained, and every corner has a thoughtful detail. It’s not the most luxurious place but everything is in perfect condition and clearly cared for with love. The location is ideal. It is right at the entrance of the Medina, which makes a huge difference if you’re traveling with large suitcases you don’t have to drag them through the narrow streets. It’s also very close to the Blue Gate (Bab Bou Jeloud). In less than three minutes walking, you are right in the center of the Medina, yet the riad itself is peaceful and not noisy at all. Each room has both air conditioning and heating, which makes the stay comfortable in any season. They also have an elevator, which is very helpful if you arrive with large suitcases. Another very pleasant surprise is the shower the water pressure is strong, and you get hot water very quickly, which makes a big difference after a long day exploring the city. The terrace is wonderful, offering beautiful views over the Medina and the mosques a perfect place to relax and take it all in. Breakfast is included every day, and it is truly generous. You get something savory and something sweet, yogurt, fruit, tea, coffee and every day they surprise you with something different. Everything is homemade, including the sweet bread, which is absolutely delicious. They also offer traditional hammam and massage services although I personally did not experience them, I have read that they have excellent reviews. Whenever you arrive, they offer you complimentary Moroccan tea, and you can ask for it as many times as you like. We originally planned to stay for four days, but we were so happy there that instead of moving elsewhere, we decided to fully explore Fez while staying in a place that made us feel so comfortable. We ended up staying 11 days! If everything was perfect for 11 days straight, of course I highly recommend it.”
“A beautiful place to stay with friendly professional staff. The hammam was excellent. Do get a guide or you'll be wandering around seeing nothing. We had Mostapha who was highly knowledgeable on world history. We visited forts, tea houses a synagogue and the Jewish quarter. Ask him anything and he'll tailor a tour for you.”
“The experience at Riad Dar Laura was absolutely amazing. We ended our trip to Morocco here, and it was the best choice - everything exceeded our expectations: the rooms, the service, the food, and the hospitality. We also tried the hammam, a facial treatment, and a massage, which was the perfect way to end a tiring day of wandering through the medina of Fes. I would love to come back one day and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Fes and looking for a beautiful place to stay, with caring service and staff who truly look after their guests.”
“Beautiful rooms, lovely rooftop terrace, amazing staff! They continually invited me to feel at home and I truly did. They graciously helped this weary traveler with anything I needed. I look forward to coming back again.”
“There is no shortage of Hammam and massage experiences in Fez, I highly recommend not going here. Went to Riad dar Laura for a couples Hammam and massage. Not sure why they have so many good reviews - I believe some may be fake hence posting this review so people are aware! The ceiling in the Hammam was leaking boiling water. The massages were was terrible. I don’t think either mine or my partners massage can be classified as a massage. We asked throughout for more pressure but I do not think the girls are trained properly to do massages. I get a lot of massages so if you have any back issues I would especially recommend avoiding here - after asking for more pressure, she used her elbow and arm across my spine but not in a way that suggested she knew what she was doing. We were happy to pay for part of one massage as this felt fair; it is not the staff’s fault if they haven’t been trained properly and they were nice girls. However the woman working there was extremely rude - she said that as we didn’t do anything about it during the massage we needed to pay for both and didn’t offer any kind of reduced price. It is quite expensive so would definitely encourage anyone looking for a Hammam and massage to find somewhere else!”
