The octopus was great but the star of the show was the venison guolash, an absolute wow dish. The restaurant itself was very well designed and the staff were lovely. “The Delaunay: Austrian Excellence in London (November 2024) If you are looking for a proper, traditional schnitzel, The Delaunay absolutely nails it. Having spent plenty of time in Vienna, I can honestly say I found better schnitzel at small, unassuming spots across that city than I did at some of its most "famous" 3-star institutions—and The Delaunay holds its own against the very best of them. The food here is consistently fantastic. The schnitzel was prepared exactly as it should be, and the purée potatoes were silky, rich, and easily some of the best I've had. Even the bread service was a standout. I rarely have room for it, but I had to order the dessert because it sounded too good to pass up: the Salzburger Soufflé with apricot compote (for two). It does take about 20 minutes to prepare, but it is worth every second of the wait. It was incredibly light, perfectly prepared, and absolutely delicious—the ideal way to end the meal. What keeps us coming back (we’ve been a couple of times since this November visit) is the unwavering attention to detail. The service is always top-notch and focused, but most importantly, the restaurant is immaculate. It’s refreshing to dine at a place that understands the basics—like ensuring the cutlery is **sparkly clean** every single time. It’s a high standard that some much "fancier" restaurants could certainly learn from.
